1. Please note price drop to £600!! This is a great bargain for a virtually brand new Shuttle 6 plus a nice lightweight cab. Thanks for looking.
 2.
Do you have the carry case for it?
No carry case. Sorry.
 3.
I'm interested in this. I'll be in touch via Pm. Steve
Steve, PM reply sent. Mike
 4. *SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD* Hi. I'm reluctantly selling this virtually unused and 'as new' combo. It's around 1 year old. I bought it to replace my old (heavy) Peavey MkVI + 1x15" + 2x10" set-up with the intention of doing small pub/club gigs, but I ended up accepting a job offer in Hong Kong and leaving the band, so it's been sitting in my parents' house. Since buying it I've only been in the UK for a few short visits and it has never been gigged or rehearsed. I've used it in the house 3 or 4 times only, and when I've turned the volume up it seems very loud indeed! I'm going back to Hong Kong again so unfortunately (for me, not you!) there really seems no point keeping it. It cost me £950 last year and now I see that Bass Direct are offering them at £1019. I'm only looking for £600 (*NOW REDUCED FROM £650!!!*). I think this is a very reasonable asking price and it's a great saving on a brand new one. I live at Crystal Palace in South London. This is the first time I've tried selling on Basschat but rest assured this is a genuine bargain. Cheers, Mike *SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD*
 5. Hi Alex, Sorry to raise this - I think I can hear you groaning even in Hong Kong! I realise that you've tried putting tolex onto your cabs before, and I'm happy enough to go for the textured paint finish, but in an ideal world I would probably choose tolex. especially with the vintagised finish. I wonder whether in an ideal world it wouldn't be a good option for some potential customers. I once tried to apply tolex to a home-made cab, with dreadful results, so I know it's a time-consuming and tricky business, but still, couldn't you find someone who's prepared to do it for you? Understandably there'd be a cost implication. Do you think it's a good idea to revisit the question and perhaps to have a poll on the issue? Cheers, Mike
 6. Perhaps I'm odd. I prefer the inside surfaces of the port to be untextured. I can't explain why. There again, I'm not really bothered either way.
 7.
Are there any photos knocking about of the aforementioned Midget / Compact combo?

 8.
Seriously, I think that the badge should go in the standard orientation, and don't worry about it being on its side when people stack them. After all, you've already lost the symmetry from having the port running up the side. Can you just give people the option at the point of placing their order? S.P.
I agree entirely with S.P. As you know Alex, I've got a Compact that I use with a LMII. I'm very happy with the tone of this set-up but I sometimes push the amp to clipping volume at 8 ohms so I'm thinking about adding either another Compact or a Midget. I know that 2 Compacts would be amazing but for various reasons the Compact/Midget pairing is very appealing. If I go down this route I would use either the Compact alone or stacked with the Midget, but I wouldn't ever use the Midget alone - there seems little point as the Compact is itself so portable. I'm really not bothered if the Midget logo is vertical; in fact, I think if it was horizontal when stacked on top of the Compact it would look a bit lob-sided. More importantly though, I'm a bit concerned that you'd prefer the Midget to be used vertically. Is that because of the co-axial tweeter dispersion (if fitted)? I can't see anyone stacking a Compact/Midget that way, especially as the dimensions suit horizontal stacking. While I'm on, is it possible to fit a fabric grill to the Midget? There's a picture of the Compact/Midget stack on the S.E. Bass Bash Photo Thread. Did anyone try it out at the Bash? I'd be very interested to hear some feedback on the pairing.
 9. Has anyone got any feedback on trying out the Barefaced Compact + Midget stack at the Bash? I've got a Compact already but I'm still undecided about whether to buy another Compact or a Midget. An 8 ohm load isn't enough for my LMII but I love the Compact sound on its own. Will the Midget add much more middle bite to the sound? Also, Alex, can a vintage-type cloth grill be fitted to the Midget or isn't there enough depth for the grill frame?
 10. Thanks for the photos 51m0n. Blurry or not it's the first time I've seen a finished Midget!
 11.

Do my eagle eyes spot a Bareaced Midget on top of a Compact in the right of the top photo? Does anyone have any more pics of these?
 12.
I have the very first complete Midget here! It is most awesome looking and will be coming to the SE Bass Bash tomorrow along with a grill-less brother. Alex
Get your camera out Alex!
 13.
Have finalised the Double Midget design. Bit taller than originally planned and tweeter isn't coax as on the Midget (no need to time-align the woofer for stacking with Compact as it's a 4 ohm standalone cab and maximising internal volume to get as much LF sensitivity as possible, whilst with the Midget it's been more about power matching with the Compact). Almost a conventional cab - but done better! Alex
Hi Alex, Have you had time to try out the Midget/Compact pairing at a gig yet? I'd still like to see photos of a finished Midget on top of a Compact, plus your impressions of the sound. If the overall tonal response is much different from a solo Compact I might still go for a pair of Compacts, but that would probably be overkill for most of my gigs. Cheers Mike
 14. Hi guys Fender 62 Precision 2mm-3.5mm-4mm Roundwound standard gauge Medium action Squier JV Precision Ditto This is the lowest I go, higher is no problem I gave up buying strings 20 years ago! Cheers, Mike
 15.
The owner's manual is wrong. The controls are actually all passive and therefore technically cut only. However the built-in curve to the preamp has boosted lows and highs and cut mids, which means to get close to flat response you have to cut almost all the lows and highs and boost all the mids. That tone stack software is really enlightening! Alex
Thanks. Recently I've been reading all about tone stacks and fiddling with the software - fascinating stuff but I started overloading on technical info (it doesn't take much)! I'm still trying to get my head around how adjusting lows affects the mids and so on. Anyway, I played with a LH500 in a shop in Hong Kong (incredible bargain here at about £185!) and was very impressed. Although the Hydrive 4x10 I tried it with wouldn't be my choice (bright, middly and a bit 'metallic', but very punchy) the amp certainly has a depth and warmth that I like. I bet it would be wonderful with a Barefaced Compact (or two). The EQ might not produce a wide enough variety of tones for some (the mid scoop is very noticeable) but for a simple old-school guy like me it's great. Whatever settings I dialled in with a passive P-bass were perfectly acceptable, and dare I say it, very P-bass-like, which suits me fine. I reckon I could probably live quite happily with a LH500 even minus the EQ controls, but with the tone stack and without all those damn parametric things it's right up my street. Mmm, I don't need another amp but... I really shouldn't go near music shops, or read these threads!
 16.
Don't forget y'all that flat is 2,10,2 on the EQ, not 5,5,5. If you have the treble pot much above 0 then you're likely to be boosting the highs which will accentuate any noise. Effectively bass is boost only, mid is cut only and treble is boost only. Alex
I'm a bit confused. The owner's manual refers to bass boost, mid boost and treble boost EQ control. What do you mean Alex?
 17. Thanks for the Midget photo Alex! Looks cute but I'm wondering how you're going to deal with fixing the grille securely. I imagined that the cab would be a bit wider so that you had room to mimic the Compact's very neat arrangement. And I'd still like to see a photo of a finished Midget sitting on top of a Compact, when you're ready. I've gigged a few times with the Compact/LMII/passive P-bass set-up. I love the tone and I'm suitably impressed by the volume too but I'd still prefer a 4-ohm option to get more headroom. Although the Compact/Midget combination sounds ideal for me I'm still having thoughts about 2 Compacts. I know what to expect from the latter but I'd be interested in hearing a bit more about the Compact/Midget, perhaps even some test results.
 18.
The first few Midgets will be ready in the next week or so. Get your order in now! Alex
Hi Alex, I'd be interested in seeing a photo of a Midget on top of a Compact, plus the results of your testing.
