1. I always had a soft spot for Talk Talk. They looked crap but certainly delivered on the songwriting and playing front. The last two albums (essentially Mark Hollis and their producer/keyboard player noodling in the studio with session players) were almost permanently in my CD player during the early 90s.

Check out the drummer in this video.

I drew on a photo of a cucumber and tuna sandwich... Time to change methinks.

Ooops...this has clearly effected me more than I thought....

  4. My Behringer BDI21 went all thin then fssst over the weekend and now doest work. No light, no sound, just sits there. I opened it up to see of there was anything obvious but all seemed OK. I think it's bricked. Very sad.

  5. Been hunting around trying to find out what pots mine has and found some geezer on eB@y selling complete kits. Here

  6.
You need to make sure the blend control has the same values as your existing Vol controls.
Eg, if the existing vols are 250K, you need a 250K blend.

If the values are not marked on the Vol pots, I would go with the push/pull solution, but again the value needs to be correct..
Does anyone know what the pots in my OLP are? Difficult to tell from looking.

  8. Hi.

I have an old Ashdown Dual Compressor that works very well but clips rather too easily. Apparently it's a feature of the early models (which mine likely is) and Ashdown had a fix. I tried to contact Ashdown to find out what it was but got no reply. Does anyone remember this fix? Is there a fix? If so is it a diy job?

    Ta

you can have it if you pm your address

ps dont think i have any fixing nuts but can check
Hi Geof. I have worked out how to wire this in but unfortunately it seems the nut required for this pot is larger than the one it is replacing. Really dumb question but...any idea where I could get one from? Are they standard sizes?

  10.
I'm struggling to remember off the top of my head, but will post it up shortly.

To abbreviate, it's slightly narrower than some basses (but probably not as narrow as others). Helpful eh?
I have one. Suit me as I have small hands. However, I believe you can fix it by putting on a wider bridge. There is plenty of space on the 'board.

Get a tuning pedal & use it as a mute................................

Ha. That's a good suggestion. I tried my pedals hoping that batteryless one of them would work as a mute but no luck. I think I prefer the the blend solution as it doesnt require me to change my habit of turning down the front volume. ta

  12. Warwick Take 12. 80 watts of 12 inch goodness. I have one, it's lovely. Small enough to carry around. Big enough to fill a small room. Nice tone.

    barts do

i got mine from iceni music...mike walsh

its wired for the crossover and easier to connect up...

ps..i usually put the hot lead into a vol and or tone pot on pin 2...it always works and you get finer volume control

do you have a solid shaft or split shaft vol pot
Both vols are solid.

The 2 OLP white leads go to the centre leg of the blend pot & blacks to earth, as it is showned in the SD web site.
Ta. Any recommendations on where to source it. Or will any one do?

  16.
You'll lose the separate control of the two coils in the pickup but this diagram will give you a master volume and master tone...

    http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wirin...usicman_passive

It's possible the pickup wire colours might be different to the diagram so compare it with the following diagram (whihc should be what you have already) to identify which wires go where -

Thanks. I was having a poke around this site last night. Couldn't find a blend option... Is there something in the jazz diagrams I could use?

  17.
vbt is always best
you can then take the hot lead from the output of the blend pot to the tone pot
then you dont get that nasty loss of volume when one pup is on part full volume
do you use tone at all
disconnect it if not and use VB nothing
Ta. How do I wire VBT? Do I need new pots?

  18. Hi. Using my newly acquired OLP MM3 in public for the first time this morning and found that it was difficult to mute the bass while I am not playing without messing with the volume at the amp. Problem is that I am used to using the volume control on my bass as a mute between songs. I run my bass flat out and control tone at the amp. The MM3 has separate volume controls for each coil and unless I turn them down together at the same rate one of them picks up the induction loop and produces feedback. The simple fix is to mute using the amp volume, but this is problematic as it is easy to get wrong when I need the level back up. Is there a simple fix to turn the MM3 controls into a volume and blend control? I know I can probably do this by going active but I would prefer to stay passive. Thanks for listening.
