These Folks were from Derby. Got to play on the same roster as them at gigs in the Derby/Burton area in the 80's. Great band probably not that well known.

Keep your eye out for any pink rim island pressings, they are highly collectible , this one of Kaya is from Nigeria, it’s not mine btw 😁

Definitely, I had 18s in the 80s and loved them, I only changed them to, HH 2x15s as I didn’t have the space at the time, all the reggae sound systems I knew only had 18s too, they might lack the definition but the bass was great 🙂
This. Anyone who has ever been to a Sound System Clash will attest to the chest crushing impact of 18" speakers

I've never been sure exactly what the 9v active preamp does. The controls are volume, pickup pan and tone, there's no EQ.
Isn't it a Status Board 100 ? Vol, Pan, Treble cut/boost. On full boost My S1 Classic is very bright

But, I might give up on them. As much as I hate to say this...they are too light😕.
On most Basses I've previously used 30 - 90 on I've mostly switched to 40 60 75 95 I think that is what Chris Squire used on His Ricky. They really suit my JayDee & G&L 2000
