2. no experience with these but been looking at those jazz 77 flatwounds, anybody tried those?
3. Anybody had any experience with one of these http://www.andertons.co.uk/Products/Product.asp?id=13188 Very tempted, nice price tag for a bit of eden kit, but i also understand that these have been discontinued and was kinda the budget series anyway. anybody played through/owned one? Im thinking it might be good for small gigs and and DI'ing at larger gigs, if it sounds nice at decent volumes that is
4. this looks awesome bit gutted ive just bought a bass micro cube rx to use for recording and practice, the stealth plug would have been a hell of a lot more practical. the cube is great for recording directly into the computer with but obviously doesnt come with the awesome software. tempted to just getting the software to run as a super cool vst with audacity. I doubt id dare to use this live though dont think my laptop would be able to cope running it smoothly, not sure if it will run it smoothly as a vst, what kind of laptop specs are you guys running it well on??
5. quite a bit of mars volta stuff has a strong latino sound with superb bass parts thanks to juan alderete. give em a listen, far from sounding like traditional salsa/latino though. far from sounding like any traditional style of music to be honest though
6. you apply it to your bass or guitar tracks on recording software that supports vst plugins
7. fantastic, will be an early birthday prezzie for me that i reckon
8.
If you can stretch to £140 the Roland Bass micro cube RX is fantastic.
i second that keeps up with a drummer quite well n all

10. has anybody found a store website where you can do this over the website??? it seems to me like you can only go into a store and do this. im lazy, id love to do this from the comfort of my own couch
11. nah you can get amps, basses, guitars etc. i think its just PA equipment and computer music equipment if i remember rightly. it explains everything on the take it away site. im quite lucky, ive got a shop on the next block from my girlfriends house that do the take it away thing, even though theyre not listed on the website.
12. http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/takeitaway anybody done this?? seems pretty good, can borrow up to £2000 to spend on almost anything musical and pay it back in 9 monthly installments. just wondered if anyone had done this and what shops they bought from??
13. i met stuart 2 or 3 years ago at the london guitar show. excellent bassist and real friendly guy
14.
I have done a full transcription/adaptation of this bassline, but it's in notation only, not tab. Let me know if you'd like me to send it to you - I believe the recorded key is E, right? Jennifer
thanks but that wouldnt be much use to me, i havent read a single note since leaving college. I found some software called tuxguitar which reads powertab aswell as guitar pro files. That coupled with ultimate guitar archive should keep me quiet around these parts for a while cheers guys
15. righto ill give it a try, cheers for the response guys cool thing is a got a microcube rx through the post the other day ive been w***ing over that for days, if the midi thing on guitar pro works rightly like photographymatt says i should be able to play guitarpro through my amp
16. id give it a go at playing along, but it would probably take me an age. plus im sort of getting back into bass after about a year of not bothering so im not too hot at it at the moment. ive been trying to find lots of motown tabs aswell with not much luck, found a few jackson 5 tabs and a couple of marvin gaye tabs, but i dont really know where else to look apart from bassmasta.net
17. I cant find a tab for this anywhere?! im hoping its just that im looking in the wrong places maybe someone could point me in the right direction please...
18. I saw this, ive never given jeff beck a chance after hearing hi ho silver lining but i enjoyed this gig. the instrumental of a day in the life near the end of the gig had me guessing for hours till i realised what it was
