Honestly I would be ok doing more miles if we had more gigs - its been really quiet this year, but mostly because the singer and guitarist have had holidays on alternate weekends. I think i might put a post on our local music group to see if anyone wants a dep.

Vocalists always finds the way to afflict the band 🤣

David Bowie & iggy pop- The passenger . When I was doing my very first gig on my ltd talents, we had to play this as the singer was all things Bowie . ( Actually , he was a more unenthusiastic version ) . I never heard it , until I had to learn it on a cassette tape.

One boring monotonous drone really . " who's the other guy singing ? Sounds like he has a cold?"  " That's iggy pop " I was informed .

The "la, la" part would do a great job for my mobile alarm song. Tommorow i have to wake up at 7am and i will try it out !!! 😝

Only 1 in 10 of our gigs would be further than 15 minutes. 1 in 40 would be almost an hour. Don't think I have ever done a gig more than an hour and a half away. We are purely local!

Just in case, if You reflect, start living and gigging in Latvia and 3 hour giggs for 300e for a band will be a normal situation😉

Had a shower, smoked some weed, went to the afterparty, drank mead, cut shapes with some Hollywood darlings you know, drank more mead, smoked more weed, watched the sun rise from arid hills into the pink-blue hue of an LA morning (the strangest light).

Sounds like You are your band leader, also vocalist and txt writer ?🤙

I've got a Gnome and have tried an Elf also, into a Super Midget.  Then I got the little 350 watt Magellan, and I'm never using another amp.  Yes, it's twice the price of most of the micro amp heads, but it's also 10 times better.

Used Aguilar tone hammer 350 is also a very good micro amp, but is rare and twice the price.

I am not entirely certain, but my best guess is that "KG" is referring to the official abbreviation of Kilogram (measurement unit for mass aka weight), and combined with the "-up" a reference to your weight going up, due to intake of McDonald's food.

You explained exactly what i meant !!! Applause!

Mine was a solo gig, so packed down my kit, took the most valuable and/or easy to nick stuff with me to retrieve my car, and then came back for the big heavy stuff. Got paid, said goodbye to the people who’d come to see me, and drove home via McDonalds.

McDonalds is a dangerous thing for KG - up.

Communards - Don't leave me this way

It seems like all is wrong in this song - drums, bass, keyboards, vocals, fx used, txt and the song is too long. I don't want to listen it anymore.👎

I remember a memorable gig at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford...

We had this gang of twenty something lads (the Bromley Boys) who used to follow us, and being a bit influenced by our own craziness, all dressed up as women. However, this meant they all looked like the Monty Python crew in their lady-guises.

I was just loading out my bass amp (still dressed in my wedding dress with black stripe painted vertically over my nose) when two local blokes came running past with the biggest Bromley Boy, Malc, looking the spit of John Cleese, in hot pursuit brandishing an iron bar and shouting "We're from faahkin Laaaaahndon!"

Never found out what it was all about, we just got in the van with our obligatory Jack Daniels...

I think they just wanted to say - living in London is very good (an extazy tabled messed it all up) !!! 😆

Went home and checked t'Interweb for bad grammar and punctuation.

(... and, for pedagogic reference, it should be 'What exactly did you did do after your last gig..?' :friends:...)

Even then 'most recent gig' would be better than 'last gig', except for those really ending their playing career, but that's simply pedantry. -_-

Ok - You won the node. Though, I never said my english grammar and punctuation is very good and stable.😝 I am just a poor boy from a poor family! 🤘

I got my end away with three groupies, did a few lines of marching powder, drank the bar dry, beat up the bouncer and spent the night in jail...

Nah, but I did stay after getting off the stage to see the band on after us and have a few jars with my bandmates as it was a local gig so no car.  Most times it is just a case of pack up, get the money then head home because we're driving.  We call the trip to the bar for pints of water the "walk of shame"...

10 years ago i had a 3 year peariod where i had no job and the only way to get the money was to play with musicians, who played old, simple, cheesy songs all their life, for 3 hour programs at one night. Those 3 years i fealt like a chicken $hit, but had no other way. Never ever will get back to kind of a job/stage life. I preffer really good covers or original music with artists.

It's work. I wouldn't expect an electrician or builder to do anything other than pack up and leave when his / her job was done.

Well, i preffer (before or after packing) to have 1 or 2 - 0,5 good, dark beer or tasty whiskey, except the gigs where nothing like that is available. I don't have to drive home couse my health doesn't allow me to drive a car, so a bit of alc is not a problem for me. If You think it's all bad and not right....keep thinking, i'm doing.

  13. I could play a lot of covers in different versions, no problem for me, but at the bands i played covers, mainly the one who choosed the exact song, gave a link or sent mp3 to how he likes it. When i choose the song, i preffer the original version to make cover of it the same way, with my own bass lines.
