  1. Just bought a pedal from Thor, absolutely top bloke - fantastic and very speedy comms and lighting quick delivery despite Royal Mail's utter incompetance resulting in him having to ship it twice! Highly recommended!

  2. Great sounding compressor pedal - can range from warm and very transparent to really quite punchy and almost an effect in itself.
Excellent condition - home studio use only, never gigged. Bought new and hand made in the USA. True bypass, 9V battery or power supply.

Looking for £70 shipped to UK

  3. For sale - Haz Labs reissued Mutron III+. Great sounding envelope filter - very funky! All the usual controls: Low pass/High pass/Band bass/Notch selector, high/low range, filter up/down, peak and depth controls.

Works great with active or passive basses, keys etc. Switches inside give more variation over the frequency range it responds best to - allows you to tailor the sound to different instruments.Takes 2 x 9V batteries or an 18V power supply.

Very good condition - few minor dings as shown in the photos.

Looking for £140 shipped to UK.

  4. Aah, it seems I'm not alone in being significantly less than satisfied with Interparcel....

Used them to ship a bass to London based on the positive feedback they've received on here, it went via TNT for next day delivery by 12 noon at the princely price of £55. So I sat in all day waiting for the couriers who were due by 5.30, and guess what..... 6 came and went so I called TNT - apparently as it was booked through Interparcel they weren't allowed to give me any information about why they failed to collect it. So I tried Interparcel, whose offices close at 5.00....

So extremely annoyed I called Interparcel in the morning who checked with TNT and gave me the old 'The driver knocked on the door but no-one was in' chestnut. No no said I, I was sat in the office all day which has two windows overlooking the drive, and is right next to the door. Long and short of it was, no refund/compensation for abysmal service as 'we don't guarantee delivery times' (so why exactly do you charge more for "12 noon next day delivery"....).

It eventually went the next day, complete with driver ringing me to ask which house it was (I thought you'd knocked on my door yesterday afternoon......?) but I certainly won't be using a 3rd party portal like Interparcel again, far too easy for both companies involved to blame the other...

  5. For sale is my Warwick Streamer Stage 1, 4 string in natural oil finish with gold hardware. German made in 2000 it's all original with MEC P/J pickups with 18V preamp giving a great range of tones including a great classic P tone and of course the obligatory Warwick growl, and has been fitted with gold Schaller straplocks. It's made from fantastic looking flame maple and is through neck. This is an extremely reluctant sale, and it's only being let go because I needed a five string and can't afford to keep both sadly. It's in really good condition, there's a slight thumb mark above the P pickup, and a slight nick on the back of the upper horn near the straplock. It's been regularly waxed and comes complete with a tin of Warwick wax.

Comes with a brand new Warwick Rockbag, I'll ship fully ensured within the UK, or could potentially meet up for collection either Halifax or Stafford. Please PM for shipping outside the UK. Asking price is £850, I'm not looking for trades thanks as it's only being sold for finanical reasons. Thanks for looking!

  6. Thanks for all the suggestions - I guess its more complicated than I thought it would be...

If I've got it right, it the monitor goes between the bass and pedal board its gonna need to be powered and finding a small, light, battery powered one that doesn't colour the signal as it passes through is gonna be tough.

If it was to go between the board and amp head, or between amp and cab it could be passive, but then there's the issue of trailing a headphone cable from amp head or floorboard to me, which I'd really like to avoid..

The easy solution is looking like maybe a wireless transmitter on the floorboard running to a wireless pack on the strap, that would solve the issues of power and signal colouration but it seems a bit of overkill for what I need and the distance the wireless signal would be travelling! Hopefully I'm missing something simple somewhere! :)

  7. Cool, thanks for the lightening fast reply! That looks perfect apart from it looks to be PSU powered only and ideally I'm after something I can attach to my strap and not have to worry about trailing a power cable behind me. Also I worry about colouration of the signal.. I realise I'm probably asking the impossible here by the way! Thanks again though :)

  8. Hi guys, hope this is the right section for this - after one gig too many where I'm struggling to hear my bass clearly onstage I'm thinking of a simple in ear system so I can maybe have one ear plugged in for a bit more of me, while still getting the ambient stage sound.

I don't sing so its purely for bass - what I was thinking of was something maybe attached to the strap with an instrument in and out and then just a headphone too, so I can send my signal through it (preferably with no tone colouration etc) to the pedal board as normal.

I'd rather not have the hassle of wireless. I saw the Rolls PM351 but to be honest that looks like overkill for what I need, are there any good headphone amps/small & light DI boxes that would do the trick? I vaguely remember reading something here ages ago about a member who builds their own range of practice amp/pedal things, would they be suitable? Many thanks in advance....

  9. For sale is my 2-tone sunburst American Precision Standard bass from 2002 I think (serial no Z214****). Beautiful instrument - pictures don't do it justice but the combination of current sunshine levels and halogen lights isn't conducive to photography! The sunburst is warmer than it looks in the pictures and the finish is excellent - one small ding on the back of the top horn and a small dent on the edge below the tone pot - I've tried to show these in the pics, but they really are very small.

She's fitted with a tort scratchplate, Fender pickup and bridge covers and ebony (not plastic) tug bar. Currently strung with La Bella flatwounds it has a fantastic authentic tone - deep yet defined. Does the Motown/soul thing to a tee as expected. Fitted with straplocks and comes with the Fender hard case.

Very reluctant sale due to the time of year(!) and the fact that I'm playing 5-string almost exclusively now. Will be very disappointed to see it go, but the wife has noticed it's not been gigged for almost a year and I've run out of excuses to keep it!

Price is £750 plus P&P, though would prefer collection or meeting up in the Manchester area over shipping if possible. No trades sadly...!
