  1. I bought a microphone from Lee - it arrived super quickly and very well packaged, he even helped me track it down after Royal Mail went a bit rogue! Just an all round great guy to deal with, thank you!

  5. Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe filter pedal for sale, probably the best filter I've tried but sadly despite my best efforts I've not been able to successfully sneak it into anything on our set live! Am trying to downsize my board so it's got to go. Very good condition, small bits of velcro on the bottom. Looking for what I paid for it - £350 collected from Dartford or central London, or will ship at cost.

Hi Axel I only just joined , but reason for this was to find out what you actually thought of the RCF 935a cabs , I'll give you my feedback also ,it will be very interesting to read what others say about these , a lot of YouTube clips on DJs using speakers but for bands and vocals different story when it comes to what is best , looking forward to raising new topics here in BASSCHAT ...

I love them, I use them mainly with a 5 piece indie pub covers band and we run a silent stage with everything through the PA (bass and guitars DId and e drums) and they handle everything brilliantly.

Every now and again I get a hankering for a sub, but this is usually when we've not gigged for a while, and as soon as we gig again I realise it would be overkill for the venues we're playing. I've not tried an outdoor gig with just the 935s and no sub, but I've never felt they lack anything for an indoor gig.

I've only gigged them in linear mode and we have them pole mounted.

  8. A real revelation for me was moving to a thinner, more flexible pick. I've always been a fingerstyle player, but have tried briefly a couple of times over the years to play with a pick. As it's a bass I thought I needed a really thick inflexible pick and never got on with it, and stupidly never tried anything else.

Recently again I needed to use a pick for a couple of songs and I think on the back of something I read on here, I bought a multipack of Dunlop picks. I've now found I get on best with the orange .60 and particularly the red .50 ones. I'm still rubbish with a pick, but much better than I was!

  9. Tourtech small pedal board with soft case, holds ~5 pedals. Dimensions are 500mm x 135mm. It sits quite close to the ground, so I've added some slighly higher feet to accommodate a power supply underneath (these can easily be removed though) and have also cut a slot on the underside to allow for easier installation of the power supply.

In good condition, with 3M velcro attached. The soft case is great - nice amount of padding and a really good size side pocket.

Looking for £25 delivered within the UK.

  10. NUX Melvin Lee Davis NBP-5 - this is a fantastic preamp with separate drive function and also has an optional cab sim/IR loader that can be applied to either the 1/4" output, the DI, or both.

Sweepable mid frequency control for fine tuning. The inbuilt drive is great too - has it's own footswitch, good range from subtle to full on, and has a blend control to mix in your unaffected signal too.

Comes with aux in and a headphone jack.

More info here on the NUX site.

Boxed with instructions and original rubber feet - currently has 3M dual lock on the back. Great condition - has been mounted on a board and kept in a case.

    £90 delivered within the UK.

  11. Disaster Area DMC Micro midi controller - updated to the new V2 that can display text for patch names.

Perfect for controlling Source Audio pedals/Hub, Strymon, Eventide, anything with midi basically. Amazing versatility in a tiny form factor, and even better now that you can name your presets.

Boxed with manual and in perfect condition - has been mounted on a board and kept in a case, comes with 3M dual lock on the back.

    £100 delivered within UK.
