  4. Hello Basschat I've been wandering around these parts for a while, but thought I really should introduce myself. I'm Shaker Been playing for over 30 years Currently play in a 4 piece RnB Band, an acoustic trio and a jazz band. Currently playing MM Stingray, mongrel P Bass, Status 5 string fretless, Jack Casady and old Romanian DB. Currently playing through Ashdown MAG rig, TE Rig or GK150 depending on the gig. Between the basses and the amps sits my pedal board with a Punch Factory, a SABDDI, a Yamaha NE1 and a Zoom B1. Shaker

  6. Hello. Few questions Does it all work OK? Will the legs come off for transporting? Where abouts are you? Are the keys weighted like a 'proper' piano? PM me if you can. Shaker
  7. Strings now sent to Jakesbass Shaker

  9. Black nylon DB strings. Been on my bass for 72 hours...didn't work for me. Free to a good home. Shaker
  10. Looks like an early 70's Zenta, I had the blond one when I was much younger. As I recall the pickups weren't bad and the neck was quite playable. Shaker
  11. I saw this thread and hooked up with Mo to sort out my P Bass. What a gent! He turned it round in a day and the cost was more than fair. I also demo'd his basses. The finish and the feel are superb and they are different in a good way. Shaker
  12. Here is my perspective on the JC. I wanted a ‘non-Fender’ style bass as a counterpoint in looks and tone to my other stuff, and looked at a Guild B301, an Ovation Magnum and a Gibson Ripper. I ended up choosing the Jack Casady. This may be the sexiest bass ever…it just looks so cool. It plays great as well after I set it up properly. There is something about the gold top, half 335/half Les Paul body shape and the ‘varitone’ that I find really appealing. Tonally, it is a cross between a ‘pumped up’ Precision and a Rickenbacker…full, but clanky(in a good way!), and remarkably flexible. Enjoy! Shaker
