This is my (very) bright red Washburn XB-600, which I am selling to aid my 'Ricky Acquisition Fund'. As you can see it is a bolt on model with JJ type pickups, and J Bass string spacing. The good bits It plays fantastically well, has a low. buzz free, action, set up by Jim Fleeting, and is currently strung with D'Addario 25-130 Nickels It has a Seymour Duncan STC-3 preamp, with Volume (with the pull 'Slap' switch), Blend, T&B (on concentric pots) and Mid. All pots (except Volume) have centre detents. (That's nearly £80 worth of preamp!) The bad bits The body looks like it has had an interesting life. To be fair you would never need to worry about scratching it:) The pickups are quite a low output. That said the SD preamp turns this into a tone-monster! In summary Sounds fantastic, looks characterful. A highly cost effective 6 string. This has no case but I will pack it very well. You will need to arrange collection or courier from Kent. Happy to answer any questions Shaker

I got this in 1981 just as 'synth pop' started happening, and it was a straight choice between this and the Boss DR55 at the time. So 30 years on it shows a little of its age...it still works fine. Pre-MIDI, step programming from a bygone era and the sounds will take you straight back to the early 1980's. Google for more information. No box, no instructions, no AC adaptor. It will be well packed. Shaker
Do you have an accurate weight and what is the balance like?
According to the bathroom scales it is 3kg. Balance-wise, like all Gibson types, especially hollow bodies, it has a little 'dive'...but nothing like a T-Bird, and a wide strap stops it for me. Shaker

34" Scale, through neck and very light weight with the usual 2 pickup, Vol, Blend and active Treble and Bass. This is a well put together piece of kit and everything works as it should. The active circuit is very well designed…the bass control makes trousers flap and the treble control really brings out the octave strings. It is really very flexible and worries guitarists:) All proceeds will go to my 'Ricky Fund':) Since getting it a couple of years ago, I got it set up properly with a lovely low actionb and have just restrung it with D'Addario's. Collection from Kent is welcome, but I am happy for you to arrange a courier. No case, but will be very well packed. Shaker

I got this about 3 years ago because I wanted a ‘non-Fender’ style bass as a counterpoint in looks and tone to my other stuff, and looked at a Guild B301, an Ovation Magnum and a Gibson Ripper. I ended up choosing this Jack Casady. This may be the sexiest bass ever…it just looks so cool. It plays great as well. There is something about the gold top, half 335/half Les Paul body shape and the ‘varitone’ that I find really appealing. Tonally, it is full, but clanky (in a good way!), and remarkably flexible. That said, I now realise that my life will be incomplete and fundamentally disappointed without a Ricky 4001. Hence the sale. I have it strung with D’Addario Flats, and it has an amazingly low action. It has a couple of scratches by the bridge (see photo) It comes with a FREESTYLE rectangular Hard Case. You are very welcome to collect in Kent or I will post at your cost. Shaker

I got this when I was getting involved in a 'Prog Rock' project. That project has come to an end, and it is time to move this on. The 8 string bass will probably follow:) They are EKO K2 bass pedals from, I would guess, around the 1970's. If you look in You-tube there is a video of the K3, which has a longer 'keyboard'. Trust me one octave, and one note at a time, is more that enough:) They have been well used but function properly, and when I got them I replaced all the foot-switches, and put chicken head knobs on, as they are easier to read when standing up. If this was a bass it wold be described as having 'mojo' Reading the control panel from left to right and top to bottom. Logo and model name Knobs for Tuning, Sustain & Percussion. A (slightly temperamental - I keep it on) On\Off switch and powerlight 16',8' & 4' switches, and indicator lights (You can select all footages at the same time) Sustain on/off. When on, the knob above operates, when off, it decays quickly. Percussion switched for Guitar & Bass. These do something with the attack - but is quite subtle. Volume control It then just plugs into an amp or PA (no midi). On its own it sound big, deep and smooth, and can do 'Hammond -style' bass very well. I used it with a multiFX box and a microsynth to give it movement, and some 'Moog-ness'. Through a PA it sounds immense; it is great to set up a 'drone' with your feet then play over the top of that with your hands. A Moog Taurus 'homage' for next to nothing;) My preference would be collection (in Kent), as it is large (25"wide, 21" deep (front to back) and 7" tall). That said, we can probably sort something else out, depending where you are and if you cover the costs. Shaker
