1. I started with D'Addario Medium gauge Hybrids (too tight and they seemed to strangle the sound) and then changed to D'Addario Light gauge Pizz (much, much better). I have just tuned them down by a tone D, G, C, F and they sound (and feel) better still. I also tried Weedwackers and hated them. Far too fat and floppy and, for me, the E and A were unusable. So, how do Honeys compare tension wise? If Weedwackers are 1 and hybrids are a 10...where would the Honeys be? Any input would be much appreciated. Shaker
2. Easy - Behringer BD121. Within budget. warms up the tone...all boxes ticked. Keep it off the floor though. Shaker
3. Friday afternoon bump. This needs to go! Shaker
4. Bump This is a fantastic bass for the cash. I am open to offers. Shaker
5. This is my (very) bright red Washburn XB-600, which I am selling to aid my 'Ricky Acquisition Fund'. As you can see it is a bolt on model with JJ type pickups, and J Bass string spacing. The good bits It plays fantastically well, has a low. buzz free, action, set up by Jim Fleeting, and is currently strung with D'Addario 25-130 Nickels It has a Seymour Duncan STC-3 preamp, with Volume (with the pull 'Slap' switch), Blend, T&B (on concentric pots) and Mid. All pots (except Volume) have centre detents. (That's nearly £80 worth of preamp!) The bad bits The body looks like it has had an interesting life. To be fair you would never need to worry about scratching it:) The pickups are quite a low output. That said the SD preamp turns this into a tone-monster! In summary Sounds fantastic, looks characterful. A highly cost effective 6 string. This has no case but I will pack it very well. You will need to arrange collection or courier from Kent. Happy to answer any questions Shaker
6. looks like its gone to bunjy thanks Shaker
7. ...and replied. Sold subject to the usual Shaker
8. This is an early 1980's EQ pedal in very tidy condition, and it spent the 1st 10 years of its life in my pedalboard. It hasn't been used in anger since then, but works well. If you want it, donate the asking price to Basschat and I'll mail it out. Shaker
9. Absolute bargain...Reduced to £150 firm. This needs to go! Shaker
10. I got this in 1981 just as 'synth pop' started happening, and it was a straight choice between this and the Boss DR55 at the time. So 30 years on it shows a little of its age...it still works fine. Pre-MIDI, step programming from a bygone era and the sounds will take you straight back to the early 1980's. Google for more information. No box, no instructions, no AC adaptor. It will be well packed. Shaker
11. Sold Dave some bass pedals. Sweet easy deal. An absolute gent;) Shaker

13. Gareth, Bilbo and Farmer 61 are right. This really is a great bass....only my GAS for a Ricky is making me sell it. Shaker
14.
Do you have an accurate weight and what is the balance like?
According to the bathroom scales it is 3kg. Balance-wise, like all Gibson types, especially hollow bodies, it has a little 'dive'...but nothing like a T-Bird, and a wide strap stops it for me. Shaker
15.
I wanna buy your carpet!
Sadly, the rug isn't for sale:) However, the bass is.....
16. 34" Scale, through neck and very light weight with the usual 2 pickup, Vol, Blend and active Treble and Bass. This is a well put together piece of kit and everything works as it should. The active circuit is very well designed…the bass control makes trousers flap and the treble control really brings out the octave strings. It is really very flexible and worries guitarists:) All proceeds will go to my 'Ricky Fund':) Since getting it a couple of years ago, I got it set up properly with a lovely low actionb and have just restrung it with D'Addario's. Collection from Kent is welcome, but I am happy for you to arrange a courier. No case, but will be very well packed. Shaker
