“mains power wired in”
what does this mean? No battery?
Yes there's no battery option, the pedal is powered by a built in cable that plugs directly into a plug socket so is being powered by the mains voltage. The pedal will have some voltage protection/reduction such as a step down transformer built into the circuit.I think mains powered pedals are normally built that way due to specific voltage requirements or they need more current than most power supplies can offer.

Ah damn, really sorry to hear this, Nick seemed an absolutely lovely guy. RIP dude 😔

One of my favourite instrumental tracks ever, a Serge Gainsboroug title track from the Cannabis soundtrack.
Also love this song by the Beastie Boys 1994 record Ill Communication which was basically the soundtrack of my teens. I quite often play along to this with a nice fat fuzz tone.

Justin Chancellor on Tool's 10,000 Days, specifically, Jambi
Also, Joe Lally on Fugazi's Repeater album.
The sound of Joe’s bass on Waiting Room is right up there for me, it’s perfect.- 1

Bought Colin’s programmable Sansamp Bass DI. Very well packaged, super fast delivery and in amazing condition. A top guy to boot as well, what more could anyone want 😊

Thanks for the offer, at some stage I want to update all the old designs with a standard format to make it easier for people to build without having to trawl all through the old threads. I may get back to you
I was thinking that would be a good idea Phil, especially as a couple of them are only available as low res images- 1

It’s weird as playing bass/music is my favourite hobby and I only have 1 bass which I obviously use for everything. I do like other kit, and do look at other basses with an eye to getting another one maybe a stingray or jazz but I know in reality I don’t need it and I’m happy with my precision.
I also play club cricket and have literally gone through more bats than I care to think about, sometimes several a season.
What that all means I have no idea 😂

Ok it was the day after tomorrow
The hold up has been because the Basschatter who does the drawings for me has a load of work pressures and not been able to get them back to me. I in turn have been busywith family stuff plus a new band and not really pulled my finger out as a result, maybe that's just an excuse for my inactivity though. On the plus side a few people have said via pm they want to build this and post their build diaries so the pressure to get on with it is building.
So, first of all can anyone turn my pencil and paper designs into something that looks like the drawings we have for the other speakers?
Something that looks like this would be perfect
I can help if needed Phil, have done a fair bit of technical drawing over the years.- 1

I wish I'd been a bit less diplomatic, and suggested we knock it on the head after twenty minutes. But instead, I somehow agreed to come back the next week, by which time he'd managed to learn a Green Day song. Just the one. Made for a less tedious hour than the first session, but it was a long time before I could bring myself to listen to Longview again...
Should have just bitten your lip and closed your eyes… 😉- 1

We were looking for a drummer. This guy turns up with his kit, an oxygen cylinder and a face mask. He was OK with slower songs, but had to increase his oxygen flow for faster numbers. After about 8 songs, he announced that he'd virtually run out of oxygen, so had to stop playing. Clearly, he wasn't in the best of health, and it was quite sad to see somebody really struggling with something they were desperate to hang onto.
That’s both hilarious and really sad at the same time. I’m imagining him breathing away like some sort of Davros/Darth Vader hybrid whilst playing!!- 2

From reading this thread it’s pretty obvious most singers are completely delusional 😂

I was my worst auditionee. The band (2 guitars, drums) sent me a list of songs. I rehearsed them for days on end, then turned up for the audition.
They launch into a song without saying what it is. Then another and another. Some are in different keys from the originals. I have no clue, none whatsoever. At one point, mid-song, the lead guitarist wanders over, picks up my left index finger and physically places it at the correct fret. Then he wanders back again.
Finally he says: "Roxette?"
I say: "The Swedish duo?"
"Nah, Feelgood." I'd never heard it before. It wasn't on the list.
In the end they just ignore me and play on.
Audition over I pack up and the band repair to the pub (I'd been told that going to the pub after band practice was mandatory as part of band bonding).
"You coming?" one of them says.
"Me? Sure." I follow in my car.
In the pub I sit at the table saying nothing while they chat. I am feeling dreadful. What a complete and utter horlicks. I'm burning with embarrassment and shame.
Then the lead guitarist looks over. "You in?"
I couldn't believe it.
They turned out to be a great bunch of guys and great musicians (the lead guitarist in particular). I learnt very quickly after that. Memorable gigs followed.
I learnt later how I'd got in. Sheer desperation on their part. Not a single bass player for miles around. Not one. Except me.
Some things are just meant to be 😊- 2

I think Ceriatone do a B15 style kit, by all accounts their kits are great quality.

I built a 5e3 Tweed Deluxe about 20 years ago and love it. Built the cabinet from scratch with finger joints and everything.

Forget the basses, it's all about the travel romance novels for me 🤩

Bought a pair Brian’s chinos, arrived super quick, well packaged and make me look dapper. What more can a guy want.
He’s a top guy to deal with 😊

Missing both wheels.
You'd need a strong back to move that bugger.
True, maybe the Hulk is in the market for a stack😁
A couple of replacement wheels would probably be easy to sort though.

Browsing reverb and saw this earlier - might be good for someone in London. £100 for an 8x10 is a steal.

Can I take the 38R grey pair please 😊

Did you get any further with this build @JPJ?

Very interesting thanks for posting. There's no doubting the quality of these instruments, and while they're not really my cup of tea sound wise you can't help but admire the passion and craft that goes into Alembic basses, it's all absolutely top notch.

Spencer just posted 7+ paragraphs addressing the auctions, scalpers and the pricing. He makes some fair points about the pedal market and the manufacturing industry.
Reading that (and I’m not sure why I did to be honest 🤣), it seems to me the modus operandi for all this is to test the ceiling people are prepared to pay for his pedals.
Substantial price increases inbound.
I really don’t get all the furore around pedal culture. Most of it’s snake oil selling and marketing bull.

That is quite the video, think a few chemicals might have been ingested during the making of that 😂
