  1. Cheers dude, That's actually quite old material from a previous line up (including the bass (oops!)). We're working on a new album now and I've done some live recordings to put up. I've actually got a gig on the Friday we finish the course in Sheffield, if you wanna check us out? I'm wondering whether the build will be cured enough to christen....
  2. Just bought an EBS multicomp off John, nice easy transaction and well packed! Thanks John, Chris
  3. I like the jaunty attitude of the Tele plate too, but the P-bass hybrid curved control surface is nice. I'm still umming and ahhing, but I reckon I'm gonna forego the plates and go for a nice wood finish.
  4. Jon's sourcing them for me at my additional cost, as he already has links with an SD distributer.
  5. Hey, yeah, maybe halfway between the two. There's no top veneer, but the colours good. That first one looks great, without the guard and control plate. I'm heading towards the Seymour Duncan SJBs and STC3 pre/EQ but that naked is pushing me towards the natural finish... 3 weeks and counting!
  6. I bought a great condition Rack Bag of Nick, a real pleasure doing business, Cheers Chris
  7. Just bought a pedal off Kongo, Nice and easy. Thanks Chris
  8. Cheers for the input guys, I'm thinking I can mock assemble with and without the plates and see which works best.
  9. On the back of Mikey's dairy and course threads, I figured I ought put one up ready for photos and the like. I'm attending Jon Shukers workshop in July also. My plans are 5 string Jazz in satin red stain with black Gotoh hardware all over and thinking about an East J-retro Preamp. The trouble is I can't decide whether to have a black scrtach plate and the black control board or go au-naturale and have neither? I love the straight line of descending size pots look, and the East has a three-band mid-sweepable EQ on stacked pots in chrome or black. Other than that, 34 inch scale, 22/24 frets, 3 up, 2 down tuners and Seymour Duncan Vintage PUPs. Any recommendations? Cheers Chris
  10. Hey, just posted on your build design thread. I'm one of the other two, a relative Noob on here. I'm based in Sheffield, so I'll be commuting out to Hathersage. Getting excited now!
  11. Didn't actually end up buying, but a thoroughly helpful chap. Thanks anyway. Chris
  12. Hi Mikey, I'm also doing this course at the same time. Very exciting! I'm headed for a red satin Jazz with black hardware, probably Seymour Duncan vintage PUPs and a John East J-retro preamp. What do you think of the the gotoh mini's? do they look ok on the scale of a bass? Look forward to meeting you Chris.
  13. Free bump, I've got one of these, and they're great quality, transparent, built in kit/metronome. I use it for a solo acoustic bass set. Look around, £95 is a bargain, mine was £140 new and that was on offer.
