It's possible mine is faulty I guess, I used it for 15 mins and its sat in a pocket of a gig bag ever since, I'll dig it out and have another go.

A different question might be: what headphones are you using? What number of ohms. The VOX headphone amp is almost certainly designed for 32-60 ohm headphones. If I were to plug my 250 ohm Beyerdynamics into one, I'd get very low volume as well. That's why I bought a second, less expensive pair of cans.

I'm using Phil Jones cans at the moment which are 32ohm

Thanks man. The dot markers confused me for a while, I've scoured the Web for similarly configured fretboards and not found another ibanez like it so I pinged @Bassassin for advice, it's really in great condition considering it's age.  Going to have the pickups out to see if they have a date stamp this weekend. 

I have the vox headphone amp, I honestly think it's crap and use my zoom, I can't get the volume I'm looking for with the vox.

Here is my ibanez 2388b/DX, its quite a rare/early one according to our resident expert @Bassassin who kindly helped me identify it..  it has dot markers with 2 dots on 7, 3 dots on 12 and 2 on 17 instead of the usual crushed pearl inlays. 

Its completely original, just missing the pickup cover, everything works perfectly and it has a lovely feel to it and a wonderful tone with the flats it's currently dressed in..

I recently purchased a pair of the phil jones ones just to see what they are like.... They seem a bit flimsy in construction compared to my usual sennheisers, however they are cheap to buy.. the bass response and volume levels are excellent, they are light and comfortable and don't seem to colour the sound. 

I just received Quents Active P-bass special, its exactly as described, was perfectly packaged (it took me 15 minutes to find a way in).  The whole transaction was easy with great communication throughout, very happy..

It seems to fray like silk but who knows.. I guess you could bleach it and dye it any colour you want, just dipping the ends of the strings... It would be nice to have the silks match headstock colour I guess... 

If it helps Labella 760fs-b come with black silks at the tuner end and no silk at the ball end.. The ball ends are all unpainted brass.. At least my last set did.

I have a fernandes apb-90, it was my first 'proper' bass, purchased in Holland in the early 1990's.. wonderful instrument, superb slim neck and it never let me down at the time. I didn't really realise how well made it is for quite a while....

First Post here despite being a long term lurker without an account. I wanted to leave some feedback for @alembic1989.. I've just acquired his greco gob1200 speedway. Lovely instrument exactly as described and I'm very happy, easy transaction and a nice guy who's done a wonderful job of refurbishing it..
