4. Ok well excellent by human standards... a strong, confident and experienced performer with a bit of character. Being a cruise we need alot of songs in alot of styles so comfort playing with pick and fingers is preferable... not all tangy funk licks, not all driving rock, a bit of everything. Not overly flash and playing over the top of everything but solid with good feel and tone. Someone who can deal with the riggers of cruising life... its great craic but can also be a pain in the balls. Someone who doesnt have the typical muso ego and can take direction and musical suggestions without getting all bent out of shape. Someone who is on time and is prepared or at least can apologise when theyre not. Someone with good gear and all that lovely stuff. Im a mid range country rock and classic rock singer so someone with a strong voice for more modern stuff would be great, but just a good voice would be enough. Ive been doing this for alot of years as Im sure you all have and you do come across some real clangers :-)
5. You interested in a Kinal trade? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/167001-kinal-mk-5-2-days-listing-only/page__fromsearch__1
6. There is a gig back with it in good condition, although the stand needs to go separately.
Is it still available? Do you have a gig bag/case available for it?
7. Well it's a cruise for predominantly American punters. Money's is about 1300 pounds a month... Not life changing money but you have no expenses and it's a great itinerary. There'll be all sorts of cover material, mostly pop rock and country. There'll be some training, medicals and Visas required for those that don't have them. Nice way to spend the winter if it's a part of the world you're interested in seeing.
8. Singing would be handy but will keep you posted, cheers.
9. My band is looking for an excellent bassist with vox for a cruise starting in Dec 2012. It is around Florida, Mexico and The Carib as the resident band for about 3 months. Please respond with links and any questions Thanks.
10. Bought a pedal off Jon today. Short and sweet transaction with no probs. Very reasonable priced pedal in good nick. Cheers.
11. Lightning fast response from yer man there... I think Ill be picking up a M-80 from him today. Black Finger is still for sale or would perhaps consider a Sansamp Para Driver trade.
12. Thinking of trading my EUB or something a bit bigger. The Shuker is gorgeous and has fantastic tone with a Shertler pre and pickup. It has a deep neck, DB strings and is quite double bass like in sound and feel. It is however fret marked along the edge and 36" scale and Im looking for something longer and preferably only dot marked and proper DB strings. Ive been using this on tour and it has been great and it comes with a case and brand new chrome hardware. Lets hear what youve got :-) This was originally a £1300 instrument so something of a similar value would of course be welcome. I could only let it go for about £1000 - I have upgraded the hardware and replaced the pickup.

15. Hi I need to sell this within 2 days for some emergency cash. Nothing too serious, Im not paying off kidnappers or anything but a few quid would come in handy right now. Anyway if it doesnt sell Ill be talking it down again as its the best bass Ive ever owned, seriously. 35" scale and feels great to play, really fast and easy. Blah blah blah its really good etc... Heres the facts: Its going for £1300 PM or email me [email protected] Kinal 5 string bass, MK-5 (M72) Gorgeous Mike Kinal (Canada) bass for sale. It's a five string with a beautiful quilt maple top in an amber stain. Matching head stock (quilt/amber) with a very nice birds-eye maple cap to the rear. Alder body with a lovely quilt-maple top. Ebony fingerboard on maple + five-piece neck with graphite reinforcement. 2 Aero jazz pickups with Bartolini preamp, 3EQ and 3-way midrange selector switch. The scale length is 35" (for a better 'B'), with a 1 and 11/16" nut. String spacing is 9mm at the nut and 17mm at the bridge. Weight is 8 & 3/4 lbs. Great condition - the only significant 'ding' (which has no effect on playing, and is hard to see) is a small (0.5cm) one to the side (only) of the ebony board, between frets 1 and 2 (below the G-string). 16.
Thanks el's - totally agree! if I had unlimited funds/space, I'd hold onto this as the best J5 I've tried, but looking to fund a new custom 5. IMHO it's similar to but better than any of the Sadowsky M/NYC's I've played.
no bother, good luck ps note one lovely kinal in my profile pic... its done me very proud. very comfortable to play and surprisingly good for classic rock and vintage sounds aswell as modern. took me a while to get used to the look, but i love it now. Id highly recommend these basses too.
17. T'was mine once upon a time... A lovely lovely guitar. You should take the opportunity to bag it if you can!
