Hi mate, that J&H distortion pedal is interesting. Is it the old one or new one and does it run on 9v adapter? Would you be interested in a swap for any of these?
I have a line 6 Echo Park Delay, a Bass Big Muff and a visual sound Jekyll and hide distortion pedal. Let me know if any of that interests you and we could maybe strike up a deal?

1800 dollars is less than 1200 pounds a month you are asking for a great bass player with lead vocals for this position; good luck to you! When you pay peanuts you generally get monkeys,
Well its not me paying, its the company and thats the general rate for such things, and many a great musician does it. You also get your flights paid for and your board, excellend 24hr food and use of all the facilities, free tours around all the great places you get to visit and alot of free time. Crew prices on all the drinks and duty free shops etc. Use of the companys backline, no setting up or breaking down gear, pro sound guys and techs. No travelling (apart from being on a ship of course) Alot of great musicians who play one nighters at home work alot harder and often struggle for steady work. Ive done both and Im an accomplished guitarist vocalist and I enjoy working these contracts, as do the rest of the band. Anyway going by the response we've had there are plently of options for us, we have 2 full days of auditions coming up of the best players who have applied. If you make more than that playing full time Jeffe then good for you... dont apply. :-) Anyway Im lowballing the figure, theres still a negotiation... chances are itll be more than that. Thanks for all who applied, keep em coming if youre interested. :-)

Hi our band The Fuse need a great all round bassist for a Carib cruise beginning 2013. Lead vocals and BVs required. The wage is approx $1800pm and it is for a very prestigeous luxury cruise line. Much the same craic as my previous ad... have a look through for the kind of person we're looking for. Cheers http://basschat.co.uk/topic/179450-bassist-with-leadharmony-vocals-for-booked-cruise/

Bassist with lead/harmony vocals for booked cruise.
elsharko replied to elsharko's topic in Bassists Wanted
THIS POSITION IS NOW FILLED BUT NOW I NEED A BASSIST FOR ANOTHER CRUISE IN JAN 2013. IVE MADE A NEW THREAD. -

I took it to my local music shop and played it through one of their amps straight in and it was fine but with the MXR it was still distorting at all volumes. I tried a few other active basses through the MXR in the shop and they wernt distorting and were significantly quieter in volume. Its got to be overloading the input. I havent seen your video yet, will have a look in a bit, cheers.

Bassist with lead/harmony vocals for booked cruise.

No sight reading necessary for this... its a hired band rather than random musicians hired by the company to play what they need whenever, which often involves reading. -
Bassist with lead/harmony vocals for booked cruise.
elsharko replied to elsharko's topic in Bassists Wanted
A bit wrong... there are crew drills and training to do too and 'ship life' also refers to sharing small cabins, dealing with the very regimented rules, 4-5 sets a night, the cheese... oh the cheese... -

Cheers Ian, Turns out this is the non-adjustable version :-( So its all still a bit buzzy. May have to consider changing the pre? Any suggestions there? 18v would be handy for the extra headroom.

I also tried playing through my Berhinger Ultra-DI and it distorted its balls off again but I turned on the -20db pad and it was fine.

Its actually as Yamaha Stagepas 500 PA I was using as an amp. Ive done this quite alot in the past and I really quite like it normally. I was running it on phantom power with an XLR from the MXR and I tried it with a jack and 9v battery too with the same distortion. I tried running straight into the desk and it was really clear but lacked the piff I enjoyed from the MXR. Ive Literally just got the Spector, Im not sure how to adjust the output on the tonepump? That could help possibly. Its a Euro 5lx with EMGs

I recently acquired an MXR M-80 and loved it, especially the 'color' setting with gave me a nice rock tone that I wanted. But with my active bass it just distorts at any setting and its really frustrating. I dont want to turn down my bass volume and the distortion is worse with the 'color' setting but I want to use it. I dont use the actual distortion on the pedal at all. Has anyone got any suggestions or had any experience with this?

Still searchin', any links you may have to something usable would be greatly appreciated. :-)
