    I'm afraid that you are!

To be a working musician now (even at a semi-pro level), you need to have a social media presence, be able to receive files etc and preferably be able to record tracks at home. I speak as someone older than you and a bit of a semi-technophobe myself. The COVID situation has really brought this home to me. I've seen guys who are my peers appear on all sort of Facebook collaborations and keeping a visible profile, while I can't use a DAW properly and have been left behind a bit (not to mention missing out on recording an album and having to decline the offer of an internet session for a client of a guitar player that I used to play with). This is something I need to sort out as soon as I can.

If I was you, I would get a mid level laptop, open a Facebook account (even if you only use it for musical purposes) and install Reaper, which seems to be the easiest DAW to learn. Good luck...

Same here Bro., and from what I've read and heard on YouTube the guys@ Reaper made a ton of $ on another project they sold and offer Reaper really afffordable as a give-back to us blokes. All we need to to do is make the leap to learn it. 62 and can't catch a WAV...

  2. I'm gonna add a couple, but when a band or musician TOTALLY TRANSFORMS a song you gotta give props so yeah, Jimi's version of Watchtower and Yes's version of America (and our boy Chris rips the snot into it) BTW, when asked about Jimi covering his songs, Dylan said he was suprised he hadn't done more, "they were all his anyway".

My pics. Isley Bros.- Summer Breeze -Seals&Crofts.    (I Know I'm) Losing You - Rare Earth Extended LP version w/ Killer guitar solo

  3. But, yeah...I DON'T DECIDE. It's in the brain wiring for me. ("This Is Your Brain On Music" - Dan Levitin -). And at 62 I really have a hard time with stuff I used to enjoy. Don't know why...I'm bored easily these days. And yet there's stuff I can listen to FOREVER. OVER AND OVER. And I love my own music on Stick even if it's boring to anyone and everyone else. I have no filter for my own music. Maybe Dan Levitin needs to write another book.

  4. What's the connection with saxes and bassists? I played the trombone! I mean, I could be loud and obnoxious without an amp, I get that. But at least I already read bass clef. And I'm not TRYING to be cheeky, just wondering...

  5. Opened for Percy's Stone Tiger@ The Showplace Dover NJ it was a receptive crowd for our brand of odd contemporary music. Percy was a nice bloke. I was playing Precision fretless at the time and sounded like I was influenced by him, but when Unorthodox Behaviour came out, our keyboardist said, "Hey, this sounds like you." (I sounded like Jah Wobble too)

  6. I picked up this beautiful Squier Affinity Strat on my birthday a couple of years ago at a pawn shop for $60US. Burgundy. Immaculate. I wanted 5 springs on the whammy bar, picked two up@ my fav guitar shop went home took the back plate off and promptly scratched the back with an errant screwdriver. Does this count?

've been working up a fully battery powered stage set up for the last few months in preparation of some site specific projects next  year and decided to christen it yesterday by playing on the South Bank under Southwark Bridge.

I should have brought a recording set up with me as the sound was absolutely incredible for my music!

I've never busked before and was especially curious/nervous as to how post-classical/ambient originals would go down.

I needn't have worried. People who weren't interested just didn't care, but those whose interest was piqued and had the time to listen really engaged.

    The experience was excellent!

No one was asking for pop covers? I'm suprised (and encouraged) I checked out your site. Nice.
