1. The return of the legendary Mr. Disco to the forum. Fingers crossed we are not in for another BongoGate scandal. What fun!!!
2. Hi Monz (Glyn), Slightly inaccurate post as I have replied to all your enquiries so far except the offer you sent me Monday evening which was still under consideration. My PM's to you have expressed both my intent and my apologies for not being able to get back to you instantly. I have also explained to you that correspondence you have sent to me ended up in my junk e-mail box, something which I corrected and apologised to you for. Let me also make it clear that you made me an excellent and completely respectful offer for the Stingray which was still under consideration. I'll PM you this and stick it up on the forum, just to make things transparent. Again my apologies, i've had quite a bit of interest on this bass and when i've had time its been corresponding with people who have offered me basses then changed their minds or lots of offers of Made in Mexico Fenders (with cash, but not what i'm looking for right now). Its also been a long and busy week. Please check your private messages for a fuller explanation of circumstances. sorry
3. Another bump after offers of trade falling through (again) I've had two really nice offers of basses that i'd really like strung out over 5 to 7 day periods then withdrawn, in the meantime i'm holding out on genuine trades from people that are open and honest about their gear.
4. Thanks for the offer but i'll have to politely decline I already have a 75 reissue Jazz which covers all my Fender based needs.
5. Can you PM me some details please? Ta
6. Thansk guys I've had some very nice offers which i'm still umming and ahhing over and two fall through so i'm still on the look out. I don't mind putting cash your way for something but don't really want to trade down.
7. I have a Great Gramma Pad for Sale. Excellent condition and barely used (less than a year old). £50 delivered The reason i'm getting rid of it is because I have downsized my gear and i'm now using more compact Barefaced Cabinets. HOWEVER. I will be using the money from the sale to fund the purchase of a regular size Gramma Pad. I cannot over emphasis how good I think they are. Mines just too big. Perfect for a 4 x 10. So if you have one and fancy a straight swap give me a shout. Will post pictures over the weekend. But to be honest its not the most exciting piece of Bass kit to look at.
8. Pictures up Put up in a hurry so will try and get some clearer ones at the weekend
9. Thanks It is a lovely example of a Stingray, i'm just not feeling the fretless right now. I have a sneaky suspicion if I move it on then i'm going to regret it.
10. I think the black one pretty much looks exactly like mine. Which just happens to be up for trade in the for sale section. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=120983
11. Acquired this beautiful bass recently. However I'm finding I'm just not using it that much and tend to use my electric upright more. Therefore I'm considering trading it on for something with frets. I'll consider anything even another Musican. Just send me a PM. I have had some interest in a trade for this bass but have now considered offering a number of trade options. I am now willing to trade on my EBS based pedal board as part of a job lot with the Stingray for something special, OR just the Pedal Board OR just the Stingray. All offers are welcome I know it seems a bit odd but i've just purchased a VB99 and it covers all of my effects needs in a very lightweight package. I have made a rule for myself that this year any bass gear I have that sits and gathers dust should be moved on and played, life is too short. I'd like to go down the trade route as the market is horrible out there on the forums and I hate to think that people are losing value on great stuff. Think of it as an option to get something nice then sell on at value when things pick up. I'm not willing to split the board up as its a pain and it took me ages to put it together, it comes as a trade. I will swap out the TC Electronic tuner for a Boss Chromatic depending on preferance of potential trader. The board consists of - Compressor IQ (Envelope filter) Chorus Octaver Wah Tuner (The most important effects pedal of them all , TC electronic or Boss chromatic, its your choice) Valve drive (used in my current set up as a pre-amp) Ebs Microbass 2 (used as bass DI in my current set up) Everything is Velcro'd and it all lives in a pedal train case sitting on a pedal train board. All connectors are planet waves. Everything is powered on board by a single lightweight supply but the valve drive has a separate power supply. The Valve drive currently has a very expensive 80's valve in it from Watford Valves, but I also have the original as well which I can include. PM me any questions Thanks as for the Stingray - A quick description taken from when it was on sale at Bass Direct Purchased in 1992 and owned by the original buyer since this is a great example of a fretless five string Musicman Stingray. The original Pau Ferro fingerboard was changed in 1993 by John Diggins of JD to the current beautiful piece of Ebony with maple stained fret markers and high polish polyester finish. The fingerboard has been re-polished since it was originally fitted and the whole bass is in very good condition with no missing paint finish and no rust on the fittings. The back of the highly figured bird's eye maple neck has been finished in a high polish finish to match the fingerboard. The unique bass has a wonderful feel and tone due to the Ebony fingerboard. This bass comes with the original fitted hard case. NEW PICTURES ADDED
12. Just to give you some idea of the differances between the prolines and the standards It has a flamed maple top with burgundy oil finish. It also has a three piece maple neck which predates the ovangkol. The prolines are lighter than the standards with better quality hardware and woods. They also retailed at a much higher price than the standards when they were originally available. You can now only get them used or direct from the Warwick custom shop. Active EQ 2 band which is switchable to passive. Brass Adjustable nut - in my opinion far superior to the modern plasticy adjust- a- nut. Gold hardware. Bargain at £500 posted with hard case and of course includes the Warwick starp locks that lock inside the horn and the body.
