I was not generally a fan of relic basses, but I got one of these on a whim in a trade couple of years ago. I was very impressed indeed. Very playable, lovely neck, nice punchy pickups, great tone and the classic dual concentric volume & tone controls. What's not to like. (I added a Badass bridge, and it is now my favourite passive bass)  This is a very reasonable price too. GLWS

Superb little amps, great tone, nice clean DI out. Have gigged mine a few times (pre Covid). It goes to every gig and rehearsal in gigbag along with spare cables etc, but actually too good for just a backup. 

Been using one of these as my main gigging cab for last few years. Absolutely brilliant.  Can't recommend them highly enough. GLWS

My problem is that I sold a perfect SB1000 in the early 80s to have a WAL custom built. I still have the WAL which is a beautiful instrument, my longest serving bass, and obviously is in a different league to the Aria. However, to this day I still regret having to let that SB go, just couldn't afford both at the time.

That is stunningly beautiful. Have always wanted a Sei.

If I hadn't bought a Chris Larkin custom this week, I would be making an offer. Dammit!

It's still in a concept phase, they have two pledgers so far but they'll need a fair amount more before they'll actually build these (see status bar on the right).

Yes they are pricey. From a playability perspective I also prefer the later SBR and Elite versions with slightly wider necks (and snake eye fingerboard inlays. The Eastwoods would be around a third of the price. I have Aria SBs, but I wouldn't have a problem with plagarism, lets face it the Japanese manfacturers invented it

Any fellow Basschatters know anything about Eastwood guitars?

From their website they obviously recreate some old classic guitars.

What's the quality like? What is the company like to deal with?

I love Aria SBs and might consider one if they go into production.

Mine just arrived today and I totally agree with everything Fretmeister says. Superb through headphones and 4 ohm PJB C8 cab. This is small enough to be unobtrusive in the lounge.

This is always subjective. Talk to Alex Claber at Barefaced.

I nearly always use a 2nd Gen Super12T these days which is a great cab. I also did a direct comparison between the Gen 3 Super Twin and Gen 3 Big Twin at the Barefaced premises a couple of years ago.. The Super Twin was superb and perfect for all the gigs I ever do, but that said I reckon the Big Twin was the best bass cab I've ever heard. 

Expecting one of these to arrive from Andertons tomorrow.

Sorely tempted by this, and surprised it's still here and well worth a bump. 

These basses have wonderful playability and a great range of tones. The build quality of late 70s, early 80s Arias left Fender etc standing. I think my GAS for Aria pro II SBs is sated for the moment   As they say 4 is company, 5s a crowd! GLWS

I always take my Elf to gigs as a back up. Great sound and matched to Barefaced cabs. I have used it in reasonably large venues and theatres with DI. Usually through a Barefaced Super 12T at 4 ohms, it is certainly loud enough for pub and club gigs without DI, and our drummer is not quiet by any means..

..... and finally the long overdue, Covid delayed deal has been concluded. Chimike is a real gent with the patience of a saint!

Here's some Green (& Silver) Tracey goodness. Always loved the Trace tone since early 80s, when I could not afford one. I have now overcompensated these last couple of years as part if my mission (obsession?) To rescue and rehouse some classic heads. The AH300-12 and Silver Valve preamp are my joint favourites, followed closely by the GP12 SMX. On the lookout for a AH500-12!

Do it. Over the last couple of years I have taken a few TE heads out of combos and built cases or installed them in 19 inch racks. It makes classic old gear portable and usable. I use my Trace heads with Barefaced or Vanderkley lightweight neo cabs, they sound superb (better than original combos!) I do not like butchering classic gear, but you can keep combo cabs to retrofit in future if you feel the need and have the space!

There is a very limited market for heavy old Trace cabs whereas the heads stiill seem very popular (especially with me!)

Any one got one of these? They seem to get good reviews for tone, but I am sure I would need to make it louder.

They have no DI out, but can FX send or headphone line out be linked to poweramp or PA?

Yes that should be fine, as BH550 specs quote 550 W into 4 ohms load, and RS410 cabs are 600W at 8 ohms each. Running into one cab will give approx 5O% power output. Running both cabs will give combined load of 4 ohms and full power output.
