EDITED 1st DEC: All gonny!
Alllrightythen: Mr G made this for me, so one owner from new. All the usuals BUT the back wings are walnut, along with the centre-block, instead of the perhaps more usual mahogany. It has done 3 polite paid gigs, numerous church worship appearances and is the only bass I record with, as it does exactly what I wish it to. Any time I want a bottom-end pinned down, it's always and only been this bass: you should be able to make its sound out among the, er, smaller guitars if you click on my sig and listen to a few clips of my CD.
As you're all jolly nice people, I'll not piffle about with feelers, tasters and tentacles(er...I've no idea why I said that...): the condition and sound are as good as you expect from a Status, miles better than you'd expect if you've never heard one. After musing my EQ settings for over 500 man-hours of recording, I've faced the fact that my ear has gone even more J-ish, so I must act accordingly. Case and docs will accompany the sale.
For cash, I'm expecting £1050 plus any carriage costs.
Exchange-wise, ideally I'm looking for a Sadowsky Metro jazzer, 4 or 5 string, with VTC, natural ash/maple only.
Mind you, I'm open to negotiable permutations: I've been sorely tempted by a Shuker jazz 4, Birdy's Lakland JO, a Sandberg and by the Sei 4 that still seems unsnapped-up at the Gallery. I may even wait for Rob to do me a J-Retro....
...so you see the spec I'm after: jazz 60s/70s; active/passive; ability to be bright(ash/maple); slimmer neck; 4-string(I think, but you know what we're like when GASsing)
This will not be going on EBay.
Pics below, plus one of it surrounded by its little brothers. Ah.
By all means pm me or float it all out on the forum.
Every bestest!
