1.
i din't want to spend much on an EUB just incase i don't get on with it so was initially looking for a used one,but this lunch time i noticed that Norman's are doing the Stagg EUB34 for £249.95 with free delivery.
Wow, that's cheap. Is that a sale price do you know?
2. Withdrawn: Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1 Humbucker, neck position with nickel cover Warm, moderate-output humbucker. Great for jazz, blues, classic rock and slide. The Alnico 2 magnet and moderate windings yield a warm, sweet tone with more natural string vibration for great sustain. Classic rock players who get their distortion from the amp rather than the pickup love the APH-1. It allows them to back off the crunch and get beautiful clean tones with softer attack. Comes with four-conductor hookup cable. This was fitted to a telecaster briefly until I decided I prefer single coils. Note that this model is low profile so will fit into fairly shallow routes which other humbuckers may not. I have fitted the nickel cover myself - it is a proper Seymour Duncan cover and soldered in 2 places to the base plate - fairly neat job I would say. Complete with box, instructions and fitting screws/springs
3. I've seen some posts about using a preamp into a power amp to drive cabinets and am thinking of doing the same. I have a GK compact combo which I have been using for years. I recently got a Barefaced Compact for bigger gigs. I've also got a Sansamp VT bass that I use as a preamp to get a warmer tone out of the GK combo and for direct recording. However, the GK combo plus Barefaced Compact cab is not ideal as it's a lot to carry around and the GK is a bit underpowered. I don't play loud but need to be able to keep up with fairly loud funk type drummers. So the signal path will be Bass -> VT Bass -> Power Amp -> Compact cabinet Firstly - is this viable? Anybody with experience of a similar setup care to comment on tone, ease of use, reliability etc? Secondly - what kind of power amp should I get? Requirements are price (low) weight (low) and power (high). I know I won't get all three of those in one package but will compromise as necessary. The tech side of this is a grey area for me - are there any requirements for the power amp in regard to the output of the VT Bass preamp? I know the Compact is 8 Ohms and rated up to 600W. I've seen mention of bridging for stereo power amps - I guess I need one that I can get the max out of a single channel 8 Ohm load. Anyway, any advice gratefully received
4. Withdrawn: Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue Tele Lead APTL-3JD bridge pickup. Seymour Duncan Site Bought this recently, installed for about 10mins and then reverted to the stock pickup. So, apart from being soldered in this is pretty much unused. Box and screws/spacers included.
5. For Sale, Mint, boxed Joyo Ultimate Overdrive. These are allegedly copies of the Fulltone OCD and also allegedly used as the basis of the AlphaDrive. Excellent OD pedal with plenty of range. Looks similar to this: Yours for £25 posted

10. Dod Milk Box highly recommended by the great ovnilab.com compressor reviewer: "This is actually one of the best-sounding cheap pedals I've tried. It has a nice full tone, with no loss of highs or lows. The compression action is designed more for sustain than for punch or limiting....It seems to allow strong waves of low frequencies to pass by uncompressed. This results in a big low end tone, but it also means your signal will not be prevented from clipping the next device in line. It also features a high-frequency expander control, which is designed to boost highs that might otherwise be reduced too much during heavy compression....Compared to the BBE Opto-Stomp, the BBE has much lower noise and more transparency, but the Milkbox is better at adding sustain and fat character to the tone. Compared to the Boss LMB-3, the LMB-3 is much better at limiting peaks, but again the Milkbox has fatter tone and more sustain. Also the Milkbox does not seem to have the threshold artifacts that both the LMB-3 and the Opto-Stomp have"
11. For sale a 2 year old Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster ‘60s. They say: The rough-and-tumble Classic Vibe Stratocaster ’60s evokes that musically adventurous decade, with a few modern features added. The alder body has a Three-color Sunburst or Candy Apple Red finish; the ’60s-era vintage-tint gloss-maple neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets and a modern 9.5” radius. The thick tone comes from the alnico V single-coil pickups—quick attack with a bit more midrange force and a knockout bridge pickup. Custom staggered polepieces provide improved string-to-string balance. Great player, great sound. You are probably aware of the good reviews these Classic Vibe guitars have had; fully justified from my experience with this guitar. I tried 3 CV60s when I bought this one and this was the best in terms of sound and playability. Selling as I've moved to a tele and can't justify 2 guitars around the place. No issues other than some cosmetic scuffs and dents which I have tried to capture in these photos
