Difficult to make a judgement on custom build though. I'd have to play an example of someone's work before purchasing. How to the XS basses play? How's the neck profile?

Hi All I'm looking for a 30" short scale bass with active pick ups. I've looked at the Danelectro, the Bronco and a Mustang and they don't really suit me. I considered modifying an SX bass but they don't seem to sell these in the UK. So this has got me thinking about luthiers, of course. Does anybody know someone who can make one here in the UK? - Jazz style body, active pups, 30" scale, jack on the front of the body? Ta Kev
