ok, you guys have spoken. 3 yes and 13 no is pretty conclusive i'd say. i was getting pretty bored of them anyway to be honest, i'd actually stopped noticing them

I was just about to take the circles of the 'polo bass' and put the original white scratchplate back on and then i thought, why dont I let you guys decide!

hmm maybe not quite as cheap as it looked like it was going to be... shot up £100 in the last minute

Went to the gallery this evening. The guy was more friendly, he even let me play a stingray when I made it pretty clear I wasn't goin got be buying it from him. He said he doesn't really have much in my price range(approx. £500), apart from a couple of fenders. So I wasn't really able to play play play as you've all recommended. I liked the stingray though, will have a look around for some second hand ones.

so that means you gotta get out there and play basses?

So I'm going to buy a my first 'proper' bass after christmas. I believe I'm doing the right thing in doing loads of research on loads of different wesites, visiting shops and playing basses and perhaps buying second hand. But the more research I do, the more unsure of what to buy I get!!! So my question is, how do you decide on the purchase thats going to mean so much to you, when you're so scared you could get it totally wrong!!!

man i'm 16 too. please tell me how you managed to afford the course???
