  1. Sound samples of a Aguilar Tone Hammer preamp pedal. Testing this very versatile preamp. It's a versatile pedal with lots of tone options (much more than I recorded). You can run it thru clean more modern or driven more vintage AGS channel. Recorded on a Warwick Corvette $$ 5 bass - passive mode, blend 50/50, pickups in single mode.
  2. Slipknot - Surfacing bass cover, from their 1999 Self Titled album. Very cool and energetic song, with awesome middle part! Threw a bit brbr deng stuff here & there;] RIP Paul Gray.
  3. Sound samples of a EBS MicroBass II preamp pedal. Testing this very clean hi-fi preamp. It's a versatile pedal with lots of tone options (much more than I recorded). You can run it thru clean Channel A, driven Channel B, or a combination of both channels. Recorded on a Warwick Corvette $$ 5 bass - passive mode, blend 50/50, pickups in single mode.
  4. Lamb of God - Redneck bass cover, from their 2006 Sacrament album. My favourite track from this album. John Campbell showed his skills keepin' up with those wicked guitar riffs here. This song is absolutely worth learning and playing!
  5. Mudvayne - Prod bass cover, from the 2000 LD50 album. Prod has some Tool-ish vibe. Very cool mesmerizing song! Ryknow's bassline seems to be simple first, but in fact it's quite complex here. Had much fun playing it;]
  6. Mudvayne - Under my Skin bass cover, from the 2000 LD50 album. This one has many crazy riffs & intensity changes in it! Definately one of the best bass lines by Ryknow on this album. Very demanding, yet rewarding peace of learning. Really enjoyed it!
  7. Slipknot - Wait and Bleed bass cover, from their 1999 Self Titled album. My favourite track from this album, from Slipknot, & in general! I used to listen to it 10-20 times back in the day... Now when I have the proper abilities, I couldn't miss the chance not to record this track! RIP Paul Gray.
  8. Mudvayne - -1 (Negative One) bass cover, from the 2000 LD50 album. Kinda groovy, slow, melodic song. Not much going on here, although another cool bassline by Ryknow. Glad to learn & play this track.
  9. System of a Down - Aerials (bass arrangement | instrumental cover) Bass, guitar, vocal - all rearranged on a bass guitar. Check it out!
  10. System of a Down - ATWA fretless bass cover, from their 2001 Toxicity album. One of more calm SOAD's song. Nice melodic guitar riffs go alongside great powerful vocals in this one. I played Shavo Odadjian's on a fretless bass - covered some guitar parts & added some notes to the bass part as well.
  11. System of a Down - Toxicity bass cover, from their 2001 Toxicity album. SOAD had another big influence on me way back in the past. Crazy riffs combined with tight rhythm section & great vocals! This is the title track from their LP. I re-arranged Shavo Odadjian's bassline to put some brbr deng stuff here & there. Really enjoyed recording this song;]
  12. Deftones - My Own Summer (Shove It) bass cover, from their 1997 Around the Fur album. This one is a great piece to just chill both playing & listening to it. Cool bassline by Chi Cheng (RIP).
  13. Slipknot - Eyeless bass cover, from their 1999 Self Titled album. Another one of very solid Paul Gray's basslines from this LP. Arranged a bit brbr deng stuff here and there;] Nice fast stuff to play!
  14. Slipknot - SIC bass cover, from their 1999 Self Titled album. I remember how much impact this album made on me when I was only 14! Always wanted to cover Paul Gray's basslines from this LP, so here goes the first one. Very brutal & aggresive track! Feel free to share if you liked this bass playthrough!
  15. Mudvayne - Forget to Remember bass cover, from the 2005 Lost and Found album. Soundtrack from Saw II movie. Short, not complicated, powerfull! Fun to play this Ryknow's bassline. Feel free to share if you liked this bass playthrough!
  16. Mudvayne - Choices bass cover, from the 2005 Lost and Found album. My favourite song from this album. Great complex basslines, indeed a fine combination of powerful & melodic riffs! Enjoyed learning & playing this track a lot;] Feel free to share if you liked this bass playthrough!
  17. Sound samples of a Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Compressor pedal
  18. Had fun & great experience covering Tom Araya's bass line in Ryan Martinie's style!
  19. Mudvayne - Rain Sun Gone bass cover, from the 2005 Lost and Found album. This is a bit monotonous song, but it runs over you like a roller! A melodic interlude gives a moment of breath, but then it crashes you again. Cool bassline by Ryknow. Feel free to share if you liked this bass playthrough!
  20. Mudvayne - Fall into Sleep bass cover, from the 2005 Lost and Found album. Nice calm & melodic verse riffs combined with powerfull choruses! I really like playing this Ryknow's bassline, and the outro is just enormous!
  21. Lamb of God - Descending bass cover, from the 2006 Sacrament album. It's quite an easy, but is really fun to play this John Campbell's bassline! I added some brbr deng stuff here and there to make it a bit more interesting.
  22. Thank you! I have similar thoughts. My fav is wenge-neck, passive mode, steel strings (I used nickels in this vid).
  23. These are some interesting thoughts, thanx for sharing them! I'll also copy-paste my YT comment here: I think the '01 NT is closer to my former '03 BO in sound, but the '95 is closer to the bolt-on when it comes to body shape & neck profile. Both NTs are great - I prefer the wenge one, it has a bit darker tone, sounds more mean in nasty in the mix for me, and it's lightly more comfy to play. Cheers!
