Hi all, sorry for not replying to most of you yet, but I will do. Considering the interest I've had I think what I'll do is split it up and get it shared out.
-
Edited to include some bass books too.
-
All gone. Thanks everyone.

Damn! Where was this when I wanted to buy a used one?
I understand your reasons for selling, but I think you're mad (no offence).
I had two Compacts, but now own one Compact and a Midget and have found it the most versatile set-up possible. I've gigged with just the Midget and have also used it as my backline when going through the PA and I've never worried about volume. When I want that little bit more, I pair it up with the Compact and prefer it to the two Compacts due to the tone just having a bit more personality.
Good luck with the sale though - it won't be around long! -
Great basses. I love mine! Good price.
It'll tide me over until you're ready to unload the Modulus, I reckon.
Stop. Looking at some of the stuff for sale at the moment, I'm actually starting to become tempted to offload it. I might gig it tonight just to remind myself why I loved it, even though I was going to use the VMJ. -
It looks very hot Trev, I think you've done well there!
-
I used to own one. If it's still around next month I might be tempted to re-own one.
-
I thought you had a really great feel, but you are clearly very modest.
What's that? You're offering me your onyx Sterling? -
I bought Trev's Squier VMJ yesterday. He's a thoroughly nice guy a very good bass player.
Hello fellow Devonian, we play in Exeter a lot, though I've not been to Coventry since 1990, has it changed much?
No, it's still grey and miserable. :-) -
Welcome Liam. I'm from Coventry too and also spent some time time living in Exeter. In my experience Bristol and Exeter have some pretty good scenes going and are both far more diverse than here. Enjoy. :-)

Tempted.

I somewhat fascinated by what looks like Spiderman sitting on the sofa, and a 1980s hairdressing book on the floor. :-)
-
Shame, it's a good price.
By the way, I've had four Sterlings in my possession over the years and they were all definitely different weights, so they must use different woods. My one and only and first true love is the heaviest of them all, but has a tone to die for. -
I think WH may finally have found his Sterling. Still my #1 gigging bass of choice.
-
That's not like you. ;-)

If anyone can make use of a Toshiba 28" widescreen CRT TV, I have one going free. It has the remote control and some rear speakers which I assume is something like Pro Logic. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, it's just surplus to requirements. I may even be able to deliver to someone locally. Anyone interested PM me.

Great price.

Great amp! I wouldn't part with mine for anything, and it pairs perfectly with my Barefaced Compact and Midget - If three things can be paired.
Good look with the sale. -
I hate DJ's so rarely listen to the radio, if I don't have a choice then I tune to Radio 3 or what was Virgin. I don't own a TV and don't watch films .
I live a sheltered life LOL.
I'm with you, but I do own a TV but don't have an aerial. Broadcast TV is overrated. -
Good golly Miss Molly!

I could never let that leave my house to go gigging.

Squier VM Jazz
in Basses For Sale
Posted · Edited by Rowbee
My ongoing house move is prompting me to question whether or not I'm using half of the stuff I own (not just bass equipment).
I've come to realise that I haven't used either of these basses for about a year since I really fell in love with my Modulus Funk Unlimited. For that reason, I think it's best that I move these on and spend the money on buying a bass I'll actually use.
[s]First is my Musicman Sterling which is the probably the first "proper" bass I've ever owned. We've been through a lot together, and yet it is still in immaculate condition. For this I would be looking for £750.[/s]
Second is the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz I bought from Despot. It has seen half of one gig in the time I've owned it, which means there's really no point in me owning it. For this I would like [s]£190[/s] £180 (which I think is what I paid for it).
Apologies for the quality of the photographs, but I only have a crumby camera phone. :-)
[Edit] I've now decided it's far too much of a wrench to sell my Sterling, so this is now just for my VM Jazz with a price drop to £180 collected, or meet up within reason.
