  1. And I still cant quite believe I still own this little crocstar.. having lost basses and amps and tons of other shite over the 43 years i have been playing.. played my mates 73 jazz through it last night, 1st time I lit it up since at least 2002, and before that I think the last person to use it was guitar legend Link Wray when we were recording his “Shadow Man” album. Life is weird, no doubt.

  2. ok.. well I actually won it on the bay today... so will pick it up and hear what it is like.

It is going to have a selmer T&B 50 sat on top and once thats back from the electrical refurb so lowish volumes.. and tbf the cab didn't cost much  so if it a ringer, I will move it on to some happy guitarist and maybe build my own bass cab.

once assembled, will report back 🙂

  3. Any one stuck a bass through this cab and have an opinion?

Seems like it's primarily a guitar/keyboard thing, but I used a Fender Twin for a recording session last year and it sounded pretty decent.

I have a 50w valve head and wondered if it would be beasty enough for a bass if I sort out the wadding?

  4. Noice Flame!  have a battered old 63 VT & they are a joy to play. Enjoy. +1 for flats for "that" 60's thomp, and given the right, or wrong situation depending, you can achieve some wild feedback with these things 🙂

  5. "I hated that effing Columbus.. but the selmer bass twin in Croc skin I would like back now please. thank you"

And in an incredible twist of fate, my original Crocbeast has been found!!

Brought by my dad in ~1976 at a school auction in Knebworth for £5 earth pounds and allegedly donated by Henry Cobbold of Knebworth Festival fame, and moreover, left behind after their stint at Kfest with a bunch of other stinky poo by none other than The Pink Floyd in 1975... The Amp was rediscovered buried in a mates loft this year..

How it got there, why it was there, no one can remember.  It is at the menders right now, as my mate rightly said when I went all teary eyed, "nope; you will just plug it in and kill yourself, I am going to get it checked out 1st"

Now I am looking for a suitable cab to plop under her as the massive chipboard 1x18 blobjob my dad made me having been long turned to weetabix... will post pics when I have my grubby mitts on her again.

  6. Over used Second or maybe thirdhand super old school bass playing bass player with a lazy laissez-faire major lack of commitment attitude. might even turn up with a guitar just to annoy.

Depending on the epically stinky financial situation may or may not have own gear. may or may not have own car.

absolutely arrogant posturing self-important bass burke who solos ALL the time. can’t read the dots and plays straight from the cockparts only.

might consider doing something truly bad if maybe you are a hip-hop surf punk P Funk outfit other than that… thanks 😎
