  1. should do the typical chat room reaction ?? why should i believe you ? well ? not to worry, when you reach 21 you will be able to wear long trousers like the rest of us , yeah , the jazz cafe thing was not c,o,t,t violent as per say , but it was bad "Very" physical being attacked by someone from behind , who was hiding behind a curtain , grabbed round the Gregory Peck from behind nearly fell over / almost dropped my bass ,, struggling to stay on my feet yanked the jack plug out of my bass whilst in the head lock ,, the guts fell out of my bass ,, ruined , ( later i managed to fix the wires using bubble gum ) whilst still being in the head lock ,, he managed scramble to grab the mic , shouting "no more jam ,,, jazz musicians , pointing at players to get on stage , kicked me off stage nearly fell off , 200 - 400 people laughing calling me every jibe name you could think of , the manager of the jazz cafe was at the door when i walked out ,,i kind of remember him with little finger in the corner of his mouth kind of saying bye don't come back , none of the other musicians stopped it , or said sorry (fn) the irony was there was another jam round the corner ,, where they would hand me the bass before i brought a drink ,, i had done nothing wrong at the jazz cafe i waited "5 weeks" to get a slot , i walked home ,, the old chin started to wobble ,,, i was finished , i was grabbed the very second i was about to play the very 1st note ,, # i was finished , & spent more time with free hippy peaceful people ,, by 2007 they suggested i put a few tunes on my space , instead i chose you tube ,
  2. no ,, they told her , what happened , all those smiling faces , she trusted , her main zone , her main song , well i live in camden town and when we cant get "@=%6 " we go to zone 1 & sit above a house from a man from a cross the water , its was know as ? Valerie's ,,
  3. no it was not winehouse ,,, it was when AM ranted demanded on the net about 2004 ,, why he did not like camden ,, so they told her ,
  4. yes ,, they even had bullet round wound strings many years ago ,, all brit funk players wanted fly dropping thin bright strings ,, back then it makes playing 100 times faster ,eg @ LBGS had a go of a Status & you could slap it without using your right hand , ? was so well put together , however when it comes to one note Funk you need a bigger bass ,, light basses do not have the capacity for full body etc ,, MK is very specialized music ,, its not pick up & go music , thanks
  5. yeah , someone was hiding behind a curtain on the stage , it was a jam session i might do a video about it ,, Rant ,,, Why dont he like camden ? ,, so they told her
  6. correct i do not use MK side riffs i use heavier gauge strings Notes,, etc , 1st, when i started doing jam sessions in the early 90s MK slapping was the Only thing not aloud 2nd so , i grew out of / quit , getting into all the paraphernalia associated to MKs playing ,,because of it what happened is, MK was reborn revived as a player in the social network revolution ,,eg when i 1st came on you tube 2007 ,, folks were rating MK, bass players were battling comparing etc ,, i basically said they were Not good bass lines ,,they went crazy , so, i did an upload where i was Singing ,, one guy, reply now deleted , compared this jam to a Sting gig
  7. yes ,i was slowly waking up on you tube as a player ,, remembering ?, foot note # slades drummer many years ago was in a car crash & lost his memory ,, after getting jumped on stage @ the jazz cafe i was finished as a performer & music ,, thus , i lost my memory over the years ,, as a player so, 2008, i was remembering , knowing i could play like this years & years ago too,, in fact i was certain we created some of those moves on bass ,, ?? mark king confirmed it after my 1st LBGS ,, bash , but i did this before way before i knew about the LBGS simply because i knew i used to play like this in the early 80s
  8. This The Red Imperial player , from The Department of Pure Energy , The Brothers of Funk ,
  9. we live on a flat earth ,, flat , because there is no more funk , humps hills & mountains of funk , no mare valleys & oceans of funk , its all been snapped up by Sir Nose Illuminati , he replaced it all with plastic funk , fake funk , cheap funk , flat no beat funk ,, you got to vote before you try it ,, then you are forced to buy it he is still looking for the stash & booty so he can wear it on the body & claim the crown of domination , before the funk , the never ending tale of this naked universe , Pure , thank you
  10. i do my best to go to LBGS every year so yeah ,, i am available to be seen in the real world ,, 6 months to go , later ,
  11. Billy " one note " Sheen , yeah , any bass that passes the primary funk test is ready to go , basses that do not pass the funk test , can still be used ,, yet not desirable ,, sometimes , at all , ever , Oliver Lang & the crew call my self The Funk Monsta recently a £2 grand bass above is no different than a £75 , bass ,, if both can accept the full body power of funk , your are ready to go , the booty wont matter , in the beginning , nor the Aeolian ring tone , thanks
  12. no, booty is the stash , the cash , the groove crystallized into 3D Carol Kaye , if you rely on the top notes , you cant hear the groove . the booty , the ingredients based on jazz , full body covers the low end cheers , plenty of inside booty in this joint , full body hard to create on the joint breaking news , most slappers use medium slap ,, i call my self a one note full body player at the moment
  13. yeah the Encore is a heavy wood build with an extra wide head stock , capable of producing natural sustain allowing the full body approach , yet fizzles out to a flat sound when applying booty , with very little ring , that you would expect from say, high end priced basses ,, i do not mind too much about What bass i have so long as it passes my personal funk test ,, it must sound great before you use an amp ,, i should do a video on this subject , ps where do you see ronnie laws ? you got me thinking ? i could have seen him too thanks ,
  14. marcus miller uses full body & booty ,, he also has full heart ,, check it out , dude , & Wake Up
  15. Encore Copy of a Fender ,, great sound for big sound playing , takes Marcus Miller full body very well , slightly weaker on booty , pick up screws don't work ,, needs adjusting, hence tape over pick ups ,, works well without too much treble on tone bass was given to me my 1st you tube donation from a user
  16. Yes ,, it was of course because someone thought i said i alone "personally" was thee very 1st slapper in the UK on reddit so , i started this thread ,, to say i was No i was Not,, yet remember the 1st wave of brit funk players who were ,, i was in their circle back then as a beginner ,, as you say , the MK flat earth cross examination fell apart , but anyways ,,, a lot of players often talk about going to the music shops for the very 1st time ,, so yeah ,, Sub heading ,, "" Why we hated Fender Basses"" ,, true story ,,, only here bass chat Bean9seventy ,, thanks
  17. no , he can slap with gloves on ,, tho he risks scratching the furniture
  18. yeah ,, i am sure he did a talking video before he went to LBGS where he said he could not slap ,,, he might risk scratching the furniture
  19. the only bass players i have seen on you tube who cannot slap , normally are players from the 1960s & Billy Sheen ; )
  20. correct ,, by the early 80s ,, loads of people could slap ,, world wide ,, in fact by then you could argue the opposite ,, if you Could Not slap ,, some folks would think there might be something wrong with you ,, again yes ,, certainly for many people hearing stories of how slapping came to be in the UK,, would be an interesting read ,, thanks
  21. by the 80s many American bass players were already forcing their live bass sound to sound extra nasty ,, where upon ,, even though in the UK we wanted to sound funky , our over all sound was smooth & shallow in comparison , Gaye was on the international soul circuit ,, not part of the lesser brit funk circuit , the player who had the biggest impact on the "post " slapping community was Marcus Miller ,, tho by then level 42 were already in the driving seat for all wanna be slappers in Europe ,, etc , even by 2007/08 ,,, MarloweDK was still telling people ( mainly from Europe ) via you tube MK did not invent slap ,, the biggest / notable gig(s) Marvin did was his during1976 ? tour ,,, i remember that ,, the stories are mental
  22. yes low down ,, plus they would all be watching the same pod cast ,,
  23. if the titanic sunk in 1912 ,, people in 2018 will troll the witness as a liar ,, i have been in you tube for years ,, i have seen people , quit from being trolled over certain bands & bass players like the above ,, could that be due to the culture of the music industry i never wanted any part of ? i stayed away ,, there is still a shadow , desperate need to be in front ,, to be winning the game , was MK a rip off ?? ,, certainly not ,, he made clear at LBGS ,, reminding people in post interviews were it all started for him , The Chris Hill gang ,, & that us ,, another classic head bass line we would jam in shops ,,, all before anyone had herd the name Marcus Miller , popswell was our 1st king
