Total Watts

1. Ho ho hoy, hello from Newport mate. My missus sister lives in Cwmbran, Croesyciliog( If I got that right) @ Jase, I pass my driving test in Cwmbran too, bloody nightmare all them speed ramps.
2. Sorry to bring an old/ish topic, but I couldn't hellp my self. I own two Harper basses, a 6 string fretless with two soap bar passive pickups, and an acoustic bass with a sound hole pickup. This below is the fretless, and I been playing with it for the last few months. For £70 that is a hell of a lot of bass, and I have nothing bad to say about it, apart of that I would prefer it to be active. The acoustic is not bad at all. I managed to win the bid for 49 squids, not bad for a 5 strings acoustic bass; but the one thing I don’t like about this bass is the pickup arrangement, a “Guitar Pickup, for all kinds of guitars”, one of them you suppose to clip on the edge of the sound hole. Total crap if you ask me, I think I prefer it to feed from a mic. But for a practice bass, or to play all acoustic, for that this acoustic bass is awesome.
3.
Hi Folks, It's been a busy week (as per usual) and sometimes when it all gets too stressful, the first thing I think of when going home that I know will chill me out is picking up a bass and having a noodle around for half an hour! But it doesn't usually pan out that way because the first thing that happens when I walk through the door is kids/family mayhem etc, etc, and quite rightly so as they come first. Which means I tend to skulk around much later on practicing the bass with the headphones on, which is never quite the same thing. Is it just me with this scenario or does this sound all too familiar to anyone else?? Nik
I could very well write that my self. My advantages are that I don't have a Bass amp right now ( I been playing on my Valvestite, something that survived my one destruction rampage few months back) and the combination of that amp with my headphones makes it sound awesome, so I don't mind playing with headphones. Mad init? My other advantage is that I can pick up a bass line from a song and play it within only a couple of tries, so if I don't feel creative I can rely on that, and the satisfaction factor is awesome, so I do relax my self, the only problem is that sometimes I get too excited, lol, so instead of relaxing I get all excited and I want to play loud, witch brings frustration to the equation. Playing “shoot 'em up” games on multiplayer is less frustrating, LOL.
4. I rip off basslines by accident all the time, and it really winds me up, because instead of coming up with a nice bassline I end up playing something else and end up completely distracted from my original intentions, witch are composing something new.
5. I may just add my por list here. I own 3 basses, one is a hybrid of a P copy body and electrics, with the neck of a Westone Thunder I-A Bass, to my surprise it was pretty strait forward. They where casualties of a major incident where I lost all my guitars and basses; they got destroyed. My other bass is a Harper fretless 6 strings that I managed to get on an Ebay for 70 squids, and is not bad at all. My third one is another Harper that I managed to get for £49, and seeing that the 3 previous ones went for £75, £80, and £85, I consider this to be the buy of the century. 5 string acoustic, fretted tho. Now I'm after some decent fretless acoustic, and a 4 or 5 strings electric that is quality, maybe a Jazz or a Stingray, love them both. Laterz.
6. Hi you all. My name is Juan, I'm Spanish and I live in Newport (Wales). I been a member for some months now, but I have used this forums for research mostly, and now is time for me to return the favour and maybe get to know you lot. Cya around.

Hi all

Hi all. I'm the new guy here. I'm from Barcelona but I moved to Wales in 95. Been playing the bass for the last 16 years after realizing that is way too many good guitar players in Spain and not enough bassist. Anyway, I'm glad I come across this forums. Cya all around.
