  1. I have used them, the strings that are most similar are the Belcantos, the light ones have a little less tension than Belcantos, pizz is also quite similar, short sustain, dark tone. I think they hold up better than Belcantos which sound great for a few weeks and then they are done. I agree that the Spiro E ist mighty, but it dies not always mix Well with other strings.

  2. Adamovic Jupiter Custom Bass 6-string withdrawn for now

Nikola Adamovic is IMO one of the very best luthiers anywhere. I have owned everything from Alembic to Zon and this is the best fretted 6-string bass I have every played.

However, I am going to switch to playing fretless bass exclusively and I am having built a wonderful Adamovic 6 fretless, so this one is for sale:

    Specs:

    - White limba body
    - Olive wood top
    - ash/maple/guariuba neck with a 34" scale, 24 frets
    - Jazz bass neck design, super comfortable, very low action
    - Greenheart fingerboard
    - Passive toneblend
    - Häussel single coil pickups
    - Weight: 3,8kg

Very good condition, built in 2017.

  3. All the jumps are easy because of repetition, the left hand remembers what to do, also in this case the heel of the neck helps to find the right spot. Although, what would be an "e" on the G-string with a D-neck would be a "f" on an Eb-neck.

You could compare it to playing electric basses with different scale lenghts. I am used to 34" and can play pretty flawlessly even when sightreading. I could do well with different scale lenghts, but I would lose a bit of my routine and precision.

  4. As I said, good for you, but playing the double bass means relying on a system of motions and thousands of hours of practice, so I would never sacrifice all that or even a small bit of that for an instrument which is so unfamiliar. Over the years, I had some basses converted and also the string lenght shortened, they sounded even better after restauration and were much easier to play.

  5. If you like playing a bass with an Eb-neck, good for you. I personally would not play an Eb-neck or switch between D- and Eb-neck, it is better to have a certain system and stick with it. Basses with Eb-necks are a hard sell because most modern basses have D-necks, so most players start out with D-necks and want to keep it that way.

  6. These are very rare and you have to spend £7234/8500€ new. This one ist in great condition, 1.5 years old.

Comes with custom made ramp and the fabulous Labella Black Nylon strings.

Very clear sound, chords work like a charm, nice response, deep and beautiful bass register. This instrument is in a class of ist own. Everyone who heard and played it was absolutely in love with it.

Selling to finance a new custom fretless bass.

However, I would entertain trades with interesting basses. Fender, Fodera, F-Bass, Ken Smith etc.
