From what I've read here seems like a lot of bands are struggling with getting gigs. You mentioned the biker rally gig next month. We live in the heart of Harley land and surprisingly we "bomb out" at most biker gigs. The classic rock bands do better at those events. I'll be looking to hear about any good gigs that come up for the Glam band. Daryl

In the summer we might see a few 2 a week bookings. I can do it, however it's not easy and it usually takes me a few days to recover. Daryl

I know the feeling. We're traditionally not busy in February and March. 2 months of no gigs brings me down. At this point in life it shouldn't bother me, but it does. Dave, I'm assuming in the summer you guys have a festival and fair season.Does the Glam band play those kind of events in the summer? Daryl

Not a bad gig. We had a respectable crowd. A little over 50 people. I think that's pretty good considering we're really not a "pay at the door" band. Nice room, however the sound and lighting looked vintage 1979. But we made it work. The band was sounding good tonight. I couldn't get any decent pics. I did see that Peter Asher and Alvin Lee played there not to long ago. So we were in very good company. Daryl Daryl

I got into this because I like being in control. For me, if I'm impaired I've lost that control. Daryl

For our acoustic offering our lead singer plays her Fender Strat. Daryl

I really appreciate being driven to this one Dave. Daryl

It happened so fast. I use to walk into a gig as the new young shiny thing. Now, when I arrive at a gig people are placing bets on when they think I'm going to keel over. Lol Daryl

Thanks Dave, I'll let everyone know how it goes. And hopefully I'll get some pics. Daryl

I was in the best shape of my life when I was 58. Daryl

And no deps. Our drummer is playing this one. Daryl

I'm 71. When I arrive at these clubs and the staff are all under 25 it gets to be a little tough. Once, I'm almost sure I overheard heard a young sound lady say to another staffer " oh boy, what are we going to do with this guy" Daryl

I'm going to " old school" it and bring my GK rig and pedals. Daryl

Mep, I remember the green room fridge at our last theater gig. One member depleted the whole beer supply. It didn't go over well with the BL. Daryl

Thanks Lozz, It will be interesting. We haven't played a late night gig in the city since last summer. And all the other band members are working their traditional jobs on Friday. I'll probably sleep in until about an hour before they pick me up. Lol Daryl

The scoop for this Friday. I'm concerned be cause The Anodyne only books signed national touring bands so I'm not sure how we got booked to headline there. Second our fan base is out in the sticks. We're not a Milwaukee band. Lastly it's a pay at the door show and that's not our thing either. Instructions from the top: "Hey all! Here's the scoop for Anodyne this Friday: Load in anytime 5pm or after, we'll be there by 4:30 to set the stage. Daryl you can ride with us and I will coordinate with you later in the week. Using all house gear except a few vocal mics and lights, drum kit provided as well, just needs to be brought on stage and mic'd up. There is a loading zone area at the main entrance. All sound checks need to be done before the doors open at 6:30, including the opening act, a duo of 2 vocals, guitar and electric fiddle. Big green room with a beer fridge. I think that covers it😎" Wish me luck. Daryl

Midnight Hour, Wilson Pickett .And it was also the first full song I played with a band. Daryl

Nice sounding video clip. Nice looking ladies too. Daryl

That's unfortunate that it's tough to get £400 out of venues in your area. I think we all agree that location means allot when it comes to the number of good places that book live bands. We're in a great location for gigs. But even so we had to work our butt's off to get to the point where the minimum we'll accept is $700.00 range. And for that your getting a decent band, sound and lighting. I think it's a bargain. Daryl

I'm a big advocate for any good band raising their fee. Unfortunately musicians tend to undervalue themselves for some reason. It's really a cool thing to go from extra fun money in your wallet to making money you can actually do something with. And I completely understand that some folks are not in this for the money. I am. Hi Dave, What I don't get is everyone blamed me for that stunt. I was sober and didn't flash anyone. My good friend and great drummer told me that's all anyone's ever going to remember you from. Daryl

Looking great and sounding great. Daryl

Stub, what was interesting, the couple I sat down with knew me, but I had no clue who they were. They had seen me at our New Years Eve 2023 gig at The Precinct. They had met my girlfriend and was asking about her and made comments about how nice she was. This was the night my girlfriend had too much to drink and flashed our bandleaders father. Yes, I'm "internationally renowned." Lol Daryl

Equipment failures - always the worst time!

Some Fender tube combos are hard to work on too. Daryl
