Hi Steve,
Got my last neck stock from Soundwood in Derby, www.craft-supplies.co.uk Im going to have to start looking for different suppliers as they are running out of stock, may need to start set necks after this batch. I just love the thru necks, Yandle and sons in Matlock, are good for purpleheart also. Im gonna have a day out on a wood run soon.
Good luck bud,

Hi All,
Well Im still waiting for the wenge fretboard for Alex's bass, so I got started on blocking up the other two 5 string basses Im going to be building this year. One's going to Accugroove to pay for my El Whappo Jr, and they should be taking it to Namm in January and maybe even taking it to the guys at Bass Player magazine as they are only down the road from the Accugroove workshop. The others for a local bassist.
Mahogany/purple/wenge and Amazaque/wenge.
Cheers,
Robbie. -
Hi Steve,

Ok you got me guys, im also a pure tech head when it come to bass. Im lovin the Tfunk/Whappo Jr rig, great sound just got to build my own bass now. I would have liked to add another cab to the rig but cant due to the 4 ohm whappo and the Tfunk only goes down to 4 ohms, maybe I'll pick up a combo and have a stereo setup. Any ideas!
Robbie. -
You guys are pure tech heads! enjoy the new gear.

Hi All,
Well today we had a delivery of my new stock of wood engraved "R" Logos, still waiting on the wenge fretboard. Looks like Alex will get the chance to pick his own logo to match the Ebony faced headstock. My bets on the cocobolo with the sap.

I had the BBC2 program of Martin and chris on video some years ago and taped over it by mistake, would love to get it again so if anyone knows when its gonna be on TV again, give me a shout.
Yolanda charles was the up coming session bassist that had the custom Cocobolo top Sei built.

Hi All,
Well still waiting for the fretboard so ive started to build another Jig for my headstock. Im using drill bushes, so it should come out with nice clean holes.
On another note, Im building a set for my work friend who runs the UK Garrison. http://www.501stukgarrison.com/ Some people might know about the upcoming Star Wars event at Excel in London (30 years Anv), Looks like Ive got access all areas passes for the weekend and I might also be going to Pinewood studio to build the set before the event. Im also hoping to meet Jeremy Bullock and a few other stars.
May the force be with you!
Cheers,

Hi Dave,
The switch will just be on its own, controling the switching for the humbuckers. The table jig will be for straight line cuts and template work once ive made and attached the cross sliding router unit.
Cheers,

Hi All,
Well here's a few pics of the Fretsaw jig and my Linear bearing table router Jig. Should be interesting to see them in action soon!

Hi All,
Thats right Alex bud they are all 36 inch, Dvae you where close on the woods but instead of Olive ash we have cocobolo and the far right is Bubinga. Well today we have the taper on the neck done and the offset for the figured top. Looks like I may need to extend the length of the body a touch to get the scale length to work, its looking nice so far.
Cheers,
Robbie.
