SOLD
I recently picked up this excellent 2011 Custom Shop Warwick Streamer Jazzman LX 5-string. It sounds great and is very versatile, however I've sadly come to the conclusion that I prefer the 20mm spacing on my Stage One 6.
Specs are:
Swamp Ash body
AA Flamed Maple top
Ovangkol Neck
Ebony Board
MEC MM/J pickups with MEC 3-band EQ
Black hardware
Just A Nut III Brass
Rock case flight case
Warwick User Kit with manual and Custom Shop Certificate
This was in quite a state when I got it, and has had a new bridge and tailpiece, a couple of new tuners (just paint wear, no damage) and I put the original MEC pickups back in and had a full fretstone and setup done with new DR Hi-Beam 45-105.
I'd much rather trade this for a Streamer Stage 1 5-string rather than sell as I still want to have a 5-string. I'm not interested in anything else for trade.
Given the size and weight when packed in the flightcase, and the lack of reliable shipping insurance for instruments, it will either be collection from Surrey, or I can meet at a main London train station.
Thanks for looking!

£75 for both.
£40 each.

I’ve found bass direct pricing so on reflection, revised prices:
£90 for both posted or £50 each posted.

MM sold, just the J left
I have for sale two Delano pickups that came from my recently acquired jazzman 5.
Delano MC5HE/S-L - EB - bridge MM style 5-string humbucker wired for coiltap parallel/single coil/series with EB cover (makes it a direct replacement on a stingray 5 I believe)
Delano JC5HE/D - neck stacked coil 5 string single coil width
They’re very nicely made and fully-shielded, so should be quiet.
I can’t find a UK selling price for these new but bassparts.de sells the, for €248, so I’d imagine about £215 new.
I’ll offer them for £120 posted to mainland UK, or £65 each posted.

Sold a Warwick to Richard yesterday. Very smooth transaction and nice to meet a fellow Warwick enthusiast!

£450 is a very small budget for a 6. The biggest issues are usually poor neck stability, headstock dive and cheap pickups and electronics. The nicest cheap 6 I’ve ever tried was a Cort A6 artisan - maple so quite springy and bright without sounding too modern, neck through with great balance and the build quality and playability were astonishing. If it weren’t for the slightly anonymous electronics it could pass off as a slightly cheaper Ken Smith easily - it’s that good. To put this in context it felt like a much more expensive instrument than either an Ibanez SR or Yamaha TRB (based on having owned an SR506, SR5006 and a TRB6-ii and TRB1006). My advice? £750 buys you a lot better quality 6, so start saving

Yamaha have a shop in Soho too, and for many years one in Milton Keynes.
Yamaha’s UK headquarters was (is?) in MK so that may explain why.
Chappells of Bond St was somewhere I visited a lot for great bass books and sheet music etc back in the day - then they moved to Wardour St. I think tough times and the fact that Yamaha were a fairly big supplier of stock in the new shop meant the takeover was inevitable. Last time I went there (admittedly years ago) they still had the sheet music in the basement.

Now £20 posted.

Sold pending collection and payment.

It isn’t. I think it’s got some glue stuck to it. Never thought to ask the original owner and it doesn’t affect playability or electronics.

I can’t belive there’s no interest at all in this! I’m dropping it to £450, no offers and if it doesn’t sell I’ll keep it. This is cheaper than a Chinese rockbass for a very high quality German Made Corvette!!

Still available.

Final price drop to £500. No offers.

On all three of my Warwicks the battery leads go into an orange plastic connector with 7 holes. This connects to the MEC preamp board. Not sure if they require soldering in but maybe not? It could just be a push fit connector but seems quite stiff so I’m not going to try pulling it off in case it’s soldered

Price dropped to £550.

Now £20 posted.
I have one set of new, unopened DR DDT drop down tuning strings - gauges 55-75-95-115, bought to down tune my Corvette $$ but I never bothered! £24 including postage to mainland UK

The only bass I’d accept in trade is a Streamer $$ 5 (with cash adjustment, of course).

Still available.

All Warwick 5’s with a pull up on the volume pot are in effect passive. Looking at the wiring diagram it is true passive too as it goes direct to the jack, bypassing the preamp, and their pickups are passive. I use it a lot as it is a less sizzly tone without the preamp and single coils/coil-rapped MM’s are quieter. Those Yamaha BB basses are hard to beat, though.

I have 2 sets available. £40 posted to UK mainland for the both of them.
I stole this from No Treble.

Er... Alain Caron, years and years ago. More to the point: why would you want to? Personally despite the technical prowess in the link above it sounds awful. Very little musical substance, just fancy technique.
