1.
Hi Captain I've only just noticed this thread...wow, what a process...what a bass! I made contact with Robbie Mc just before Xmas to discuss some ideas around a custom built 6-string singlecut... Singlecut 6 Marseer Swallowtail Ebony BoardHoney Buckeye top with sandwich veneer of purpleheart / walnut backMaple/wenge 5 piece neck 34 scale, Slotted headstock with face burl cap. Medium frets Luminlay side markers Brass nutCustom Passive Rim Pickups or Christoph Dolf , Delano etc. Vol,Vol,tone setupHipshot Bridge in Black with Gold saddlesSperzel tunersJD Straplocks High gloss finish Protection Racket Soft Hardcase... what a thoroughly top bloke he is! Rob told me that he's not in a position to take on any new commisions until his current batch of builds is completed, which is fair enough and understandable. I guess until then I'm just going to have to feed off your excitement...not long to wait, she'll soon be in mitts, fella!
Hi Scott Glad you like the build! Really like the spec for the single cut, Quite fancy one myself sometime! I must agree with you on the fact that Robbie is definitely a top bloke and a real pleasure to deal with. As for the single cut all I can say is go for it you won't be disappointed
 2. Frets levelled polished and the board has had a lemon oil

 8.
More gold than Fort Knox! Awesome! One step nearer, Captain- might it be under the tree on Xmas morning? Great work as always RK
Yeah its getting there Robbie has still got to finish fitting the frets when he gets some more fret wire! The body still has some more work to do on the profile and the final sanding needs doing then it has got to go for refinishing. Should be done sometime in new year
 9. Hi all just got these pictures of the frets being fitted
 10.
Is that a more extensive cutaway than the norm? The body shape is so in-proportion with the wide 8-string neck. Very cool. It looks fabulous, like the rest of the bass. RK (been quiet for a day or two - auditioning!)
Yes and thank you glad you like it!
 11. Cheers mate, all the positive comments mean a lot to me and I'm glad you all like the build!

 14. Here's the new pictures of the Marseer As you can see it just about fits in a standard bass case!! Also Jake from quality control was just giving it a quick check over to see if dad was doing his job properly!

 16.
As stated above , it s a monsta mate ! lol What s the weight of it !
To be honest mate I don't really know I have a feeling its about 12lbs! will ask Robbie next time I speak to him for the weight.
 17.
Thanks for that
No problem glad to help!

 19.
That really is some beast. Makes my 5 string Marseer look really skinny. . The body shape works really well with that width of neck, better than a lot of other designs I've seen.
Cheers! Yeah I must agree with you on that Robbie really has his designs sorted plus he's a great guy to deal with.
 20.
What strings are you using on this Cap'n? (specifically the high F)
The strings are a Circle K 0.182-0.018 balanced tension set with a unwound high F string.
 21. Hi all got some pictures of the Marseer with the strings on just to see where the fret markers will go if fitted!
 22. It is a bit of a beast I have to admit!!!!!!!! Just got some more pictures of the monster will be posting soon!
 23. Hi Sprocket as promised here's the measurement of the neck at the nut it's........... 77mm!!!!!!!!!!!!
 24.
Wow , that fretboard s so gorgeous ! Also , this woods combo s very interesting , what will be the neck specs & string spacing please .
Thanks I'm glad you like the fretboard. 35inch scale length 17mm string spacing at the bridge, neck is 120mm at the 28th fret!! Will have to ask Robbie for the other dimensions he did tell me a few times but I've got a memory like a sieve! Will post ASAP the other info!
