  1. Yeah it was at home Chris_b, so fairly low volume (still filled the whole of downstairs with a wall of sound) - a good thing though as it it probably stopped me from causing the kind of damage that BassBunny was eluding to. So I'm assuming that this is what xgsjx was suggesting but with more explanation & detail? Thanks for the replies fellas, appreciate it
  2. Cheers xgsjx, I'll try that while I'm waiting to sell the 4ohm one
  3. Thanks BB, I'll take your advice... when I've got some free time I'll take some photo's and put up on here and use to cash to finance a new 102p @ 8ohm.
  4. Thanks for the reply BassBunny, is parallel when both cabs are connected to the amp and is what you're suggesting? & series is how I've got them - amp to cab and then onto next cab?the protection circuitry probably hasn't kicked in yet as I've not played it out of the house yet (currently just what next door can stand re: volume). Would it be better to run one cab from the speakon output on the amp and the other from the jack output on the amp or should I run the output to the 4ohm cab first and then daisy that to the 8ohm cab.... or is all of this a big no no?
  5. Hi Guys, I've stupidly found out recently that my set up might be dangerous? I originally had a Little Mark 111 hooked to a Mark Bass 8ohm 2x10 Cab, I recently came across the chance to buy another Mark Bass 2x10 cab and a Little Mark 250 head for a decent price 2nd hand and I'd been looking for another cab so I'd have the option of running 2x10 or 4x10 so I bought them. I've been running the LM111 outputting to the original MB 102p 2x10 and then daisying that to the other MB 102p 2x10... Only today learning that this could be very wrong and possibly dangerous? As the first cab is 8ohm and the second 4ohm. Is there a way I can run this set up? Any and all advice gratefully accepted, all insults grudgingly tolerated

  7. I'm currently a newbie and wanted to buy Jamie's Alpher Mako (my first possible transaction on BC). Jamie put my concerns at ease, a very nice chap to speak with, the transaction went smoothly and the Bass arrived the day after collection very well packaged. A really lovely bit of kit to sate my GAS a little... & Jamie's a gent to deal with 5*'s. Cheers, jamie
  8. Thanks guys for the very positive vibes & advice (advibes), should help me progress a little further from my current state of 'all the gear, but no idea' 🙂
  9. Thanks guys for the words and encouragement & I apologise if I sounded a little mawkish or sorry for myself - I really am quite happy doing it the way I do - But yeah! I would love to play with another as it'll stop me from 'stopping' whenever I feel like it & I'm convinced that it will hugely improve my rhythm, timing and groove. Thanks again, I've just joined and have to say that there is lot of good members on here, appreciated.
  10. Life sometimes conspires against you...A dad at 18, bills, life, children, mortgage, more children, business, grandchildren... suddenly I'm 57 (this year)!! A poor poor bass player, painfully trying to copy riffs, stunted tab following ability and deep guilt for not understanding scales, triads, or even keys etc. etc.. However, I get pleasure from playing bass because I can shut myself away & stop thinking about all the other crap, and because whenever I listen to music, bass is what I hear. Sure it'd be nice to play with other people, but I'm not good enough to be in a band, and it's difficult to find somebody local to try and jam with unfortunately. Meantime, I carry on as I am, and lets face it, a bass is a work of art in itself (so I admit that sometimes I just roll a fag and sit back looking lovingly at my collection hanging on the wall in my mancave). Man, he plans... God, he laughs!
