1. Warwick 611 Cheaper than the ampeg, pretty much same size as ampeg. You can get them brand new for about £580 900watts (1200watt max) into 4ohms...nice
2. The marshall mcb cabs seem great value for money! Not sure of the quality though, as it seems too good to be true for the price... I have always used Ashdown cabs before and they have been very realiable for years, the only reason im changing from these cabs is because I fancy a 6x10 cab and one of the speakers in ashdown mag 4x10 is starting to buzz a bit after 5 years of hard gigging . I am going to be ordering my new Warwick WCA Pro 611 cab next week. Possible option for you...? Can get them for around £579 brand new, or around £300 second hand on ebay! Bit more moveable than the 8x10 as well!
3. £275 that was cheap, fair play!! How come you got rid of it? Is it massively heavy, like rediculous or just a bit lumpy? Just thinking of stairs at gigs etc lol although I will very rarely need to lift it alone.
4. Hi everyone, I aint posted on ehre for a while, had issues with the internet etc. Right here is my dillema... I currently have an Ashdown ABM EVO II 575watt head with a 1x15 Ashdown MAG Deep Cab and 4x10 Ashdown MAG Deep. Cab. I have had the cabs for about 5 years now and thye are starting to get a bit run down due to lots of use and gigging. One of the 10" speakers is making a fuzzing sound when ever I play through it. Very annoying! So I have decided it is time for some new cabs or cab I have been reading up about the SWR Henry 8x8 Cab, I heard this has a real punch to it. Apparently the 8 8" Speakers prouduce a huge sound with the right amp... Does anyone have one or played through one. Really wanna know what they are like and they dont seem to sell them at any local music shops.
5. Where you get that done? Is it ok quality for the money?
6. Hey everyone, My band are looking to record an EP in January. It will probably be a 4 track CD which we hope to sell for a very very small fee at gigs. Basically I am looking into covers for EP, for example I dont know whetehr to go for Jewel case with CD inlay etc or just a standard card sleeve thing with some sort of art work on it. Want it to look good but not too dear as we would rather spend the money on getting the recording top notch first. Any ideas for printing places? Or which you think is the cheapest and best way to get some results... Any ideas appreciated. By the way my bands myspace is www.myspace.com/hoperemainslost if you fancy a listen ) Cheerz Damien

8. I recently purchased the AKG WMS40 Flexx wireless system. Works amazing with my bass system. I cant hear any difference in quality from the unit and my high quality cable especially live. It is great for bass as well because it caters for the very low frequencies which most wireless systems dont. Nice small body pack too, not intrusive at all which is nice on stage. Cost about £150 which I thought was a bargain for the quality!!
9. Hell yeh! Think I will always stick to ashdown, love the sound you get from them!! And they always look really cool lol
10. Yeh man, got it early this week. All I can say it wow!!! Used it on Wednesday night at a gig, absolutely blew me and and the people in front of the stage lol It is exactly the sound I have been after for a long time. I was able to use both cabs with it as well, I was worrying over nothing lol The valve preamp has a real grunt to it! Love it
11. So I finally ordered the amp with soundslive.co.uk and it was dispatched today so hopefully will receive it tomorrow at some point!! Will let you all know how I get on with it. Really looking forward to playing through it. I am playing a gig on Wednesday night so if its here by then I will hopfully get the full use of it there )
12. will that work then? I can do the jack to one cab and the speakon to the other?
13. I think that is the ashdown abm evo III not the ABM evo II :s
14. Hi guys and gals, need some advise. I am looking to upgrade my head amp from an Ashdown Superfly to a Ashdown ABM EVO II Rackmounted head amp. I have read up on the amp and it would give me perfect power etc my only concern is that on the back there is only 1 speaker output. How would this work with two cabs...I have 1x15 and 4x10 Ashdown MAG DEEP CABS. I dont want to order this head online and find that I cannot use it with both cabs... Am I missing somehting with this or is this a real issue? Please help people!!!
15. I now play with a pick quite a lot as it gives the sound i require for my band. But used to always use fingers, the way I used to get that picking sound was with a compressor and just playing harder and near to the bridge. Worked for me. Best way to get a pick sound though is it use a pic unfortinately ;o)
16.
Rawwrrr! My band is called Veils. www.myspace.com/veilsband We are a 5 piece tech metal band from Manchester with a few twinges of death metal and a bit of an old skool vibe thrown in for good measure! Here is a live review by Sonic Dice of our first ever show supporting As I Lay Dying VEILS W/ AS I LAY DYING - CAMBRIDGE BARFLY 24/05/2008 Veils are first-up and are immediately confronted with a venue that's at capacity. Seems the world and his wife want to hang around for this Manchester quartet of metal-heads and they are duly rewarded. They play rapid, death metal with elements of thrash and hardcore thrown in for good measure and have quite an impact as a mosh kicks off instantaneously. A few idiots start running across the circle pit before launching themselves into any unsuspecting crowd members - inadvisable in such a tight venue - it's not long before a bouncer moves in to stop a punch-up breaking out. The lead vocalist is keen for more and he looms over the barrier with one hand on the low roof, supporting himself, screaming encouragement. "I want to see more of this dancing. It's f***ing mint!", he yells, before proudly announcing new track 'A Resistance To Exist'. It's like listening to the end of the world - a mixture of booming double-kick, cascading tom rolls, tightly-coiled guitars and brutal, roared vocals. They pause to launch a few CDs into the crowd before assaulting us again. There are a couple of tracks up on the myspace, hopefully our EP will be out soon depending on current negotiations........
Dude I love your band! Amazing sound!! You should come down to Bristol and play a gig! Would be intense !!

21.
Yo, local, check my band myspace on my sig, Sansampis the main thing in my sound I guess. Huge head and lots of cabs otherwise, a 1x15 that is very large and deep and a 4x10 on top.
Yo, Dude just looked on your myspace for your band!! 22. Hi everyone this is my first post on this forum, been reading for a while just never got round to registering. I play bass in a band called Hope Remains Lost in Bristol (www.myspace.com/hoperemainslost). Basically my set up is Warwick Thumb BO bass, through Ashdown Superfly bass amp and 1 x Ashdown MAG 4x8 Deep Cab and 1 x Ashdown MAG 1x15 Deep Cab. I also ahve a Behringer Rack Tuner and BOSS Studio Effects rack unit. I also have a BOSS OC-3 Super Octave Pedal and and Ashdown Drive Plus Pedal. This gives me a good growly sound but I just wondered how I have give the sound a bit more beef...without the superfly overdriving too much? Extra gear or maybe just different setting, what do we think guys and gals? Cheerz Damien
