I have had an EHX Q-tron for many years now, and for many of those years it has been sitting on my desk in pieces. I tried to rehouse it in Lego, which on a whim sounded like a great idea but it didn't quite work out. Is there anyone here, or anyone who can recommend someone to pick up where I left off and rehouse it in a smaller box than the original? Not necessarily in Lego. All of the parts are there and in fine condition, it just needs put back back together and I don't have the time.

I REALLY need to get rid of this before the 7th January. Ridiculous offers considered. Edit: I posted this comment 2 years ago....as you can see I didn't get rid of it in time, and now i'm not in as much of a hurry. So now I am accepting sensible offers! -

This is back for sale. It is a great little combo but I am now looking for something to suit bigger gigs. The only issue is a crack in the leather handle which you can see in the photos, it still has its strength though and you can use it as normal. The best bass amp in the world according to bass guitar magazine a few years ago. [b]£375 ono. Warmoth Jazz body Allparts unlined ebony fretless neck Schaller tuners Bartolini 9J Jazz pickups Badass IV bridge (not pictured) All other bits are Warmoth The finish was done professionally by DM guitars, its a translucent orangy-red colour, the only pictures I have at the moment don't do it any justice. It's a head turner anyway. This is the first bass I ever built, so im not entirely sure what im doing, its just to see what you think. -
Does anyone know someone who services amplifiers/re-cones speakers in Edinburgh or relatively close to Edinburgh?

I found a Trace-Elliot Commando combo for £20, but it has a downside. The only sound I can get out of it is a consistent humming sound out of the speaker. The fact that the hum has a consistent tone makes me think its not the speaker thats the problem? Has anyone got any ideas what it may be or how I can go about fixing it? I have another issue, the speaker in my EA iamp350 combo is also buggered, but I know what the problem is with that and im entirely to blame. How hard do you think it would be to use the commando's speaker bypass the Trace amp entirely, and use the iamp head?

Ello, im having troubles with feedback at gigs. I play in a jazz trio but the drummer is quite loud, and I have to stand quite close to my amp. The problem is the higher I get up the neck, the more I get a resonant sounding trail off the end of my notes. Its almost like having a slapback delay on there, and its making it very hard to hear the notes and play perfectly in tune. Coming from a history of playing electric bass ive never really had to deal with this, so im a bit stumped as to what to do. I play a carved bass with a realist pickup through an EA iamp 350 combo, which I put on a chair. Are there any ways of tackling it? EQ? Standing further away from the amp?

I have one of these goliaths for sale, its on the scabby side but still sounds immense. The previous owner told me that one of the speakers has been replaced, the one without the black cone. Its in Inverness at the moment, but for a small price extra I can take down as far as edinburgh or Glasgow. Ill accept cash offers, or trades for a 2x10 or 1x15. Its the cabinet on the left. 4ohm

The 406 is the goliath on the left. As I said, its quite scabby and ill post better close up pictures when I get the chance. The same goes for the Musicmaster. Im in the process of moving flats at the moment so neither are at hand.

I have an unfinished Fender Musicmaster bass, all the stuff is there it just needs a refin and put back together which I dont really have time or desire at the moment. You can see from the pics how much work it needs. The pickguard is also warped. I also have an Acoustic 406, 2x15 bass cab, mid 70's. A bit on the scabby side as you would expect, but sounds immense. Ill post some pics shortly. Im looking to trade for a 5/6 string (ill consider any), or cash offers. Both are in Edinburgh. I don't know if parts should go in this forum or not, but I have some MIM Jazz pickups and a cheapo P bass body for sale as well.
