1.
Where are you based mate?
Hey Nick, im based in Inverness. I probably couldn't be much further away from you! I don't mind shipping it of course. You think you could do it?

2. Is anyone on here capable of fixing my EHX Q-Tron pedal? I took it to bits a while ago to rehouse it, and have since lost the gut shots I took as a reference and the will to complete this project. I am am looking for someone that could put it back together, mod it for true bypass and possibly rehouse it in a small enclosure. If anyone can help that would be great.

3. I was sold a bass that I was told at the time came equipped with Fender custom shop jazz pickups. I believe the guy, but how can I be sure? Is there anyway I can know 100% what these pickups are? The reason is that I am selling them on eBay and don't want to sell someone something if I am not definitely sure. Plus I can get more money if they are listed as Fender custom shop :)

4. I have had an EHX Q-tron for many years now, and for many of those years it has been sitting on my desk in pieces. I tried to rehouse it in Lego, which on a whim sounded like a great idea but it didn't quite work out. Is there anyone here, or anyone who can recommend someone to pick up where I left off and rehouse it in a smaller box than the original? Not necessarily in Lego. All of the parts are there and in fine condition, it just needs put back back together and I don't have the time.

5. I REALLY need to get rid of this before the 7th January. Ridiculous offers considered. :)

Edit: I posted this comment 2 years ago....as you can see I didn't get rid of it in time, and now i'm not in as much of a hurry. So now I am accepting sensible offers! :)

6. This is back for sale. It is a great little combo but I am now looking for something to suit bigger gigs. The only issue is a crack in the leather handle which you can see in the photos, it still has its strength though and you can use it as normal. The best bass amp in the world according to bass guitar magazine a few years ago.

£375 ono. Or trade for a lightweight head, Markbass, Aguilar etc...

The combo is in Edinburgh and it is quite heavy, so collection would be ideal. But I can look up delivery costs if someone is interested.

7. I have an iamp 350 combo amp in great condition. Im looking for £600. Pics will follow as the amp is at my rehearsal space and not to hand. I am based in Inverness (unfortunately) but will consider delivering anywhere within Scotland, and possibly further for an extra charge. It's pretty heavy so I don't want to know how much it would cost to ship!

8. Ok... this is just a feeler potential trade item! How about my unlined fretless 4 string jazz bass?

Warmoth Jazz body
Allparts unlined ebony fretless neck
Schaller tuners
Bartolini 9J Jazz pickups
Badass IV bridge (not pictured)
All other bits are Warmoth

The finish was done professionally by DM guitars, its a translucent orangy-red colour, the only pictures I have at the moment don't do it any justice. It's a head turner anyway. This is the first bass I ever built, so im not entirely sure what im doing, its just to see what you think. ;)

9. I found a Trace-Elliot Commando combo for £20, but it has a downside. The only sound I can get out of it is a consistent humming sound out of the speaker. The fact that the hum has a consistent tone makes me think its not the speaker thats the problem? Has anyone got any ideas what it may be or how I can go about fixing it?

I have another issue, the speaker in my EA iamp350 combo is also buggered, but I know what the problem is with that and im entirely to blame. ;) How hard do you think it would be to use the commando's speaker bypass the Trace amp entirely, and use the iamp head?

10.
Unless you're looking for a really good "acoustic" sound I would try another pickup - I used an Underwood with a loud band for years and it easily outperforms the Realist for volume, if not tonal quality.

Thanks for the replies, ill try out some of these ideas this Sunday. And thanks for the quote jakesbass, ill be sure to email that to the drummer.

Also, does anyone know of any piece of equipment that I can plug into my drummer to measure his ego levels and automatically adjust my gain accordingly?

11. Ello, im having troubles with feedback at gigs. I play in a jazz trio but the drummer is quite loud, and I have to stand quite close to my amp. The problem is the higher I get up the neck, the more I get a resonant sounding trail off the end of my notes. Its almost like having a slapback delay on there, and its making it very hard to hear the notes and play perfectly in tune.

Coming from a history of playing electric bass ive never really had to deal with this, so im a bit stumped as to what to do. I play a carved bass with a realist pickup through an EA iamp 350 combo, which I put on a chair. Are there any ways of tackling it? EQ? Standing further away from the amp?
