1. It has been a while since I plugged this and there are a lot of new interviews up which some of you might be interested in. :)

  2. I had this (along with the other custom pedal I have for sale) made for me a few years a go by a guy here in Edinburgh and this one turned out much better than the other one. It is a an Uglyface fuzz which is basically a fuzzface circuit with some oscillators in it. It is definitely not for the faint-hearted! It is full on Gameboy synthy-fuzz goodness.

    £45 plus postage from Edinburgh

I used it on bass at the start and end of this tune: http://thediscordian...eath-experience

Here are some more clips: https://soundcloud.c...fadyen/uglyface

  3. I had this pedal custom built for a me a while ago, and it's a strange one. I really only want to sell it to someone who has experience in building/modding/fixing pedals as it definitely needs some work done to it (and always has done).

It is hard for me to describe exactly what this pedal does, but I have managed to get ring modulator, fuzz and bit crusher tones out of it, even a slight chorus effect. Check out the sound clip.

To be totally honest it is quite hard to find useable tones hence why I would prefer to sell it to someone who can potentially do some work on it. So buy it if you want a project or if you are just interested in trying out a VERY random pedal!

£30 plus postage from Edinburgh. SOLD

  4. I have the same setup in both of my jazz basses, and output is the same on both of them. I have read elsewhere that the 9Js have quite a low output (as I found out today, lower than a Squier with stock pickups!).

Don't get me wrong, the tone isn't terrible as I have been using it for about 5 years. But I think I need something with a bit more punch, and more flexibility onboard would be nice.

  5. Hi all. I have been let down a bit lately by the tone from my jazz bass. The output is a bit low and with the bridge pickup soloed it is sounding a little bit thin. I was thinking that an onboard preamp could solve my problems. I have been thinking about the Bartolini NTBT, the Aguilar OBP-2 and the East J-Retro. Does anyone have experience with any of these?

My bass currently has Bartolini 9Js, and I am mostly happy with the tone except what I mentioned above.

  6. Hi everyone. I have started a new blog which concerns the practice methods of known musicians. If it takes off it promises to be very interesting indeed! I just had my first interview returned and it is with Janek Gwizdala. There is some golden information in there already. Check it out and let me know what you think. http://itsgoodpractice.wordpress.com/

  7. Hi Andy, I know this is slightly different, but I recently mixed an album (about 13 tracks) on Logic with my Macbook pro, and all of the audio was on my 5 year old WD mybook which I think is USB 2.0. I didn't think it was going to work at all but I didn't have any problems.
