Hi there, I'm looking for a Vocalist who's a Vegan for a Vegan Song Recording and Fashion Music Video. I'm more into a cool character of a Vocal than a big Diva Voice, so If you're a vocalist who fits the bill etc etc.

If its simply for a campaign song and video why should it matter? Surely its like acting, you dont need to be the character to play the character.

Agreed. It would seem that the song was all, and how they arrived at the finished article was mostly trial and error. George got through a few guitars during the Beatles fairly short career, but the rest of the band were loyal to a small selection of favourite instruments. You could label John and Paul songwriters rather than a guitarist and a bassist.

Yep Peavey. The others look a bit too pointy metal style. 

Its the room. To take it to extremes, just look at recording studios. Some will be revered for the sound of "The Room" for certain genres of music. When you consider the quality of instruments, amplification and outboard that pro musicians can call on that speaks volumes, If you will. When gear you normally love sounds wrong, all things being equal, its the room.

Sad but true. I have only ever played in a band for the music. If the musicians are not to my liking, by that I mean competent or friendly, or the music is not to my taste, Its a none starter for me. Money? Its a bonus but well down my list of music making priorities. No, I am not a great musician, I play because I love it so money is not a motivation.

Dont be afraid of space in music, done properly it highlights just what everyone is playing. It makes every note important, it will improve your groove, make you lock in with the drummer and make you a better bassist.

He never came across as ground down to me. He was in the most successful pop/rock band in history and didn't need to write any of the songs as the others wrote so many they could give lots of great ones away. Ground down? I could live with his legacy.

General consensus has always been that Ringo had zero creative input. Which I don't condemn him for in the slightest. When you have writers of the calibre of Lennon/McCartney, it's a tall order to shunt one of their tunes off an album for one of yours. 

But what I can't fathom is the complete lack of opinion. A comment of 'I like that bit' or 'do that bit again'. Showing some support or interest to what is being created around him, i find disappointing. 

I remember his only recollection of the Sgt Pepper sessions being that he learnt how to play chess. 

I'm not bashing the bloke. I just don't understand why he didn't chip in with something, anything. 

 

I think he chipped in the drumming parts. I was in an originals band with three songwriters, but I changed the feel, the tempos and the time signatures of some of the songs with my drum parts. We also serve etc.

Just enjoying the music for its own sake. Re vamping some originals I wrote back in the early 70s and recording them for my own pleasure. Music study? Never been for me, too much like school work. Self taught on drums, guitar and bass and I like the happy accidents that lead me somewhere new.

More so live. They could hear virtually nothing on stage as monitors were almost none existent. But they could hear the drums, so he was driving the songs. Imagine being able to do those wonderful harmonies when you cant even hear your own instrument. Pure class.

To be fair, although he comes over as a bit of a d***, theres no denying McCartneys talent and competence on every instrument he touches during the film. Hes even a halfway decent drummer.

He is a gifted musician, but he plays drums like a bassist.

Funny, but people seem to take against any vocalist or lyricist who takes on politics or sensitive subjects. I suppose its easier to write "Oooo baby I really love you" stuff. I rate Bono, not many people would go to America and bad mouth the IRA in the 80s. "One" is still my favourite love song.

Agreed. Both the bass and guitar sounds are crucial to U2. They play soundscapes, for want of a better term, for Bono to sing over. So the tones and effects are crucial. Also, in a three instrument band, what the bassist plays is crucial to keeping the song together.

Never use them, a horrible company. Treat their workers like dirt and get away with paying little if any tax in this country. I mean, how much money does one man need? Pay your workers and pay your taxes. Having an unfair trading advantage is the reason Amazon are omnipotent. Even the Wife has stopped using them due to the ridiculous website constantly trying to force her to sign up to prime and bombarding her with stuff she has no interest in. Give me a nice high street shop to browse anyday.
