Ouch - mine was wrapped in fairly thick cardboard with the handle passed through the case to make it easier to carry. That said, it's not all rosy - the case has no tags on the main pulls and the volume pot seems to turn indefinitely and is stuck at full volume. I've emailed the seller but also acecpt that these were pretty much 'sold as seen'. Oh and the strings are disgusting - looking forward to getting a new set on there!

Mine just turned up. I've only had a very quick look and it's survived the journey OK. The pulls are broken off the zips on the case, there are the expected small chips here & there and there's only one of the rests supplied (fortunately the body side for me being right handed) but otherwise it's looking like it should be fun. The strings also look like they need replacing but I've got some used ones on the way.

Now listening to a whole load of Danny Thompson to get me in the mood :-)

I'll PM you - but for public consumption it was less than the asking price but more than people paid yesterday. I imagine the more that sell though, the less inclined he may be to move from the asking price.

I just spoke to the chap who's selling them. He seems genuine and is apparently selling them on behalf of the music service he works for. He's a brass player so doesn't know much about them but did say he thinks the at least one side support is with each one (YMMV!). I crumbled and bought one :-)

These don't look like they come with the side supports? Anyone who's bought one already know? Very very tempted ...

£235 at SXPro so is it that much of a bargain if the power supply is missing? Maybe these don't come up 2nd hand that often?

Thanks all for the help. Ordered a new speakon cable and it works fine - I guess it concludes that the LM2 is fussy about speakon cables.

Thanks all. I'll get hold of another speakon cable and give that a go. If it works then I'll maybe do what I expected to be advised to do much earlier and treat myself to one of obbms cables ;-)

It doesn't say on the back of the cab and I can't seem to find the info online but as noted in my update it works when connecting a speakon cable via another cab (Ashdown Mi12).

Maybe ordering another speakon cable from Amazon where I can easily return it is the easiest thing to do but it 'smells' like that also shouldn't work!

I'm pretty sure this is wired the correct way - the LM2 states 1+ positive \ 1- ground and the cable seems to be wired this way. It does appear to have 4 connectors available inside the speakon connector though (2 are unwired) could this be the issue?

As an addition I've hooked this up via another cab like this:

LM2 > Jack cable out of speakon on amp > Mi1x12 jack in > Mi1x12 speakon out > Compact 4 speakon in

And it all seems to work. I think that rules out there being an issue with the speakon cable and the compact 4. Does that mean the speakon connector on the LM2 is broken?

I'd seen another post about these being picky speakon cables - does anyone have any experience with that?

I've got a Little Mark 2 head which I've always used with a jack to jack speaker cable. However my latest cab (PJB Compact 4) only accepts speakon inputs so I dug out a Stag Speakon cable I've had a lying around and tried it. I get no output from the amp into the cab. Using a jack in the same socket on the LM2 works with another cab. That said, I've no reason to suspect the cab is the problem although arguably testing this with another head would be a good suggestion!

I don't have another Speakon cable lying around but before I order another one is there any way to test this will work? The cable seems fine when I loosen the ends and check the cable. The only other thing I could try fairly quickly I guess would be to solder a jack on one end of the cable and leave the speakon on the other.

Any ideas? It's frustrating as it's my only had and I can't try the new cab :-(

@TheGreek - I've bought more than I should and not sold nearly enough! Other most recent purchase on here was an Acme LowB cab from @brick. I've just never got around to starting a feedback thread until now.

I picked up a pretty cheap Little Mark 2 head and ashdown Mi12 lately and while I've been enjoying I'm already wondering if I should upgrade the cab. I've not tried out a whole load of stuff but having lurked here too long was thinking a barefaced compact or super compact would be sensible choice.

At the moment I'm mainly doing pub gigs playing 50s and 60s material. Would the compact or super compact be a suitable me one cab solution? Is there a huge difference in these - as usual money is tight and I know there's about £150 price difference on secondhand prices.

If for any reason the sale on the cog preamp falls through put my in the queue please.

Anyone have any ideas what these go for at the moment? Thinking of moving my one on (just fancying a change). Its got a few marks on the tolex but otherwise decent condition. The faceplate also says 'RM420' where as all others I've seen say 'MAG420' - no idea why!

Any help much appreciated.
