1. hey guys, i bought a swr big ben 1x18" cab off pete a few weeks ago to see me right for some gigs whilst im inbetween cabs..it looks like its replacement should be soon so i thought i would put this up for what i paid for it, £50 collected from manchester.
Ive done 3 (loud) gigs with it and it sounded great, very bassy! :)

2. hey chris, thanks for your reply....im not far from bass direct so will try and get some funds in place and go and see for myself but im thinking more and more about the bergs being the best long term option...im also getting bored of lugging heavy gear about....
cheers geoff

hey chris

how do you get on with the 12 and 210 combination? sounds really flexible... did you get a chance to compare the AE and HS bergs?
cheers for your help Geoff :)

yeh i spotted that! it looks amazing but its too big for the sort of gigs i do....i had a play on joes old one and it was amazing!

...just realised joe also has his new sadowsky! a trip over the penines might be in order!

5. hey guys, sorry for the boring post but i was hoping for some advice as ive been going round in circles trying to find the right cabs..

I play mostly jazz/soul/funk

I have recently got a db750 which i love. However with my schroder 21012 it was just too boomy...and i like an old school bass sound but it was really too much...However with my old solid sate head it was amazing...but the DB750 won out and i sold the schroeder

i was thinking of getting an aggie DB210..eventually 2... or 1 and a DBx12..do you guys find them clear enough with the 750? i could go for something really hi fi like the bergs, but they dont have aguilar on the front! Also they are really expensive...i dont usually do hifi cabs, in the past ive owned a Euphonic audio 210 that was too hi fi, but with the DB750 it might have been a great match..

cheers Geoff

6. yep, ive owned loads of basses and the sadowsky modern 5 i have right now works in every context...the other day i did a pub gig in leeds with a beringer 90 amp (which was a bad as it sounds!) but still people complemented the bass......
by the way joes celinder is also Very special!

7. hi guys, ive been asked for more info...its not the current model as it has an angled 12" to save space, im pretty sure that it is 58lb ...its carpet covered (a Very dark blue) and it has an adjustable tweeter,Really its just a lightweight alternative to a 4x10 and it sounds massive! really loud! cheers geoff

8. Hey Guys,
im looking to sell/trade my Schroeder 21012 L. I bought it from WOT about a year ago (he had it from new). It also has a fitted cover. Its seen a few gigs but is in great condtion...
Im using an Aguilar head and fancy trying their cabs, especially the DB12s .. i might even add some cash for 2 db 1x12"s....
Im asking £450....collected
oh im based in manchester, but am often around leeds and york...
cheers Geoff

sold sold sold

9. the best bit of advice concerning bass buying has to be to try them first, its amazing how different they usually are to what you expect ....when i tried mine i thought i was all set to go for jazz pups but was so blown away by the humbuckers i bought it straight away... i had the same feeling about steves old 4 string!

10.
Looks great! One quick warning - I've been using one of those Sadowsky cases. A great light case, but mine has a screw/pin or something sharp down in the corner/jacksocket area. You can't see it but its scratched up two of my basses recently, until I worked out what it was and stuck some extra velcro over it....looked like woodworm damage!
mmm, cheers for the tip! im off to check right now!

11. After a trip to the Gallery i have just bought this Sadowsky M5-24.....its amazing! I have never owned a better bass, the b string is amazing and the bass responds really evenly all over the neck. The pickups sound fantastic, i usually favor the back pup but both on full is perfect...circut is also fantastic, really musical..........I did its first gig last night and i couldnt be happier!

12. would also be worth having a lesson with a really good teacher. If you are new to the bass im sure they could give you some usful advice on your hand problem, and its gonna be great for all other aspects of your playing.
Good luck, Geoff
