Bass heaven - a desert gold limited edition Stingray on the music stand
Bass Hell - a 16 month old baby about to smack it with a TV remote control (I managed to stop her!)

Guess so.

I would have said call the police in their ear shot... but given my dealings with the police... waste of time.
It's no a criminal matter, it would be a civil dispute (unless the shop reported the item as having been stolen). Bonkers, I know, but I've been in this situation myself.

The Squier is a great instrument, but the Sire is a real step up and worth the extra. Only problems I've found so far are the tuners are bit weedy and the bridge lacks a bit of mass, but that can all be sorted out pretty quickly enough.

They’re so expensive aren’t they? I remember buying a bass when I was at college for £15 (must have been 1997) and a Peavey TNT 130 for £85. That’s not a bad rig for that price. By 21 I was gigging an Atia Cat II The Pro Bass. Lovely!
All paid for by a paper round or shelf stacking at Asda.

Price drop to £140 including postage anywhere in the world

Will accept offers (including trades - let me know what you have).

Be aware of CITES too.

Hi, no it doesn’t. I’ve addeed a picture above, apologies it’s taken so long.

I recently acquired an amazing Bravewood Jaco Replica bass which the previous owner had added a vintage style Spitfire scratchplate.
These are handmade in the States and tastefully reliced.
This one is designed for a pre-CBS bass but should fit any 60s Jazz bass I think. This has a buckle to it, to emulate the old guards which means you’ll need to stretch it on your bass. It’s that period accurate!
These cost $200 new, and with shipping and import duties they’re nearer £300 when landed in the UK.
Now reduced to £100!

I alway thought that was played on Bass Guitar by Carmine Rojas ?
Blimey, I learn something every day.
EDIT: As I first thought. Various articles on the net says it was indeed, Carmine Rojas (including himself).
Thought I was going mad for awhile...
Stevie Glasgow posted up a transcription online and some track info, what Bass was used etc... (if anyone is interested).

He did, but I think it was double tracked as a synth part too. I'm talking more about it live - I've seen some terrible versions that don't nail it unless it's double tracked.

Let’s Dance by Bowie is an awesome synth bass line that really isn’t replicated as well by a bass player.

Reading music is just a convenient and effective shorthand for conveying ideas.
The belief that it inhibits creativity is just ignorant.
Plus, it’s really quite simple to teach yourself.

He’s an incredible player. Deep, rich and with a tone to die for. And an absolute monster when he needs to be too, but it’s all about the groove.
Anyone who was booked by Steely Dan must have been a fantastic technician and a superlative sightreader.
Oh, and he’s the author of one of the best instructional books for bass.

I’ve had this discussion with someone at work and while I’ve been a huge lover of vintage basses (and the owner of some beauties) I’d get a bass hand made to my specs.

A really lovely bass, this is the real thing with white case so price is quite reasonable for those days.
I would have submit an partial trade offer if I were in Bristol area.
GLWTS.
Cheers, and excellent user name as well. I used to love The Shield.

Absolutely. I’m a Ltd company so I can’t do it, but agreed it’s simple enough if you’re self employed to have a go.

A good accountant is absolutely vital when running a business. Mine is always available, happy to sort out problems and we always meet to chat in the pub.
Hes careful to always give advice and then we discuss options so I understand what’s happening.
It helps that he was a friend before we worked together I guess.

Saw Three Colours Red on the same bill as 60ft Dolls and the Wildhearts some years back, 3 awesome bands, sorry no info on where Pete disappeared to though
That would have been a hell of a gig!

It’s lovely.
Given the presence of the Rickenbacker it’s worth ensuring you have image rights for reproduction if it’s commercially for sale.

Still here - any questions, samples, images or anything else you need just let me know.
My gig at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena - updated with pics, and video etc...

This is a fascinating insight into what makes a super-tight live band. I read somewhere that McCartney would rehearse for about a month, and he can (and does) choose some of the best musicians in the world. I'm sure you're sounding fantastic already ,when the adrenaline hits on the night it will be amazing.
