    Damn.. stories like this make me feel very lucky that I fell into a very organised and well-functioning band with good friends! You just need to keep hunting I guess, if they're this shambolic when searching for a musician it probably wouldn't be a good band to play in anyway.

    What gauge are your labellas, trevor? Thanks for the write up, much appreciated! i recently tried the FS labellas and the ension was too much. Got some FLs in the post now, hoping they'll be better. Like you I really enjoyed the feel and sound.

    Swans, closely followed by My Bloody Valentine. The swans gig had me stuffing toilet paper in my ears. Bought a set of earplugs (earasers) not long after that.

    Just for the gig, based in Scotland, was part of a tour that also included Annecy, Paris, Dijon and Besançon.. Was very fun playing in your country, you get much better treatment from venues etc than in the UK!

    Cheers Chris! Thomann doesn't stock the GHS in a light gauge so I'm probably going to go either labella FL or D'addario Chromes in Super Light (40-95, might be too light!)

    Hey hey, this is a nearly-new set of Labellas in standard gauge (45-105). Bought new last week, played on my jazz bass for a couple of days, then taken off. They're my first set of flats and I didn't anticipate the increase in tension, so I'm looking for a lighter set. Could trade or will sell via paypal, free UK shipping. Make me an offer if the price isn't right - not sure what the going resale value for strings is. Cheers!
