1. Hey folks I've been asked by a friend of mine to sell his Yamaha SG300 Guitart.

I've had a good look on the net for this and thanks to jon (bassassin) I've managed to uncover a few things about it.

these guitars were made between '83 and '85 as SG510's in Japan and must've been renamed for export as there is didly squat on the yamaha site about SG300's. I deleted the PM i got from Jon with the link to the site so hope fully he'll pipe in here with it :)

It looks to be made from mahogany (neck and body) set neck with cream body, neck and headstock binding with the ususal sg type controls 2 x vol, 2 x tone +3 way selector. condition wise its not too bad with a few scuffs and dings on the font and on the bottom edges of the body and a few on the headstock. It looks like the nut has been replaced at some point as there is a little bit of cracking around the binding/laquer at the nut, the sticker on the controll plate will be taken off dunno why its on there

Its a cracking looking guitar and I'll get it restrung and set up with your choice of strings for whoever buys it.
My mates looking for around EDIT: £250 for it but hit me with offers and i'll ask ;) I have the guitar in my possesion at the moment so i'll do my best to answer any questions.

  2.
By sheer coincidence I was out at a gig last night and saw a bass player with a pretty interesting pedal board so I invited him to come down. Turns out he's a member on here too - welcome Dangerboy!

And Mr Pablo, it would be great to have you down, I've always wanted to try the Sansamp and I see you're about to nab the Ashdown J-Lo in the classifieds too! :)
I just bought my sansamp from Dangerboy a few weeks ago  Yeh I've went for the J-Lo out of curiosity more than anything so I'll have that down with me as well, there is every chance my band will be using the studio mentioned in Balham at some point in the week i'm down if not all the week cause we've got a gig on the 17th or 18th (not confirmed which one yet)

  3. Depending on the date I'm down in Balham from probably the 10th till the 18th May and if it works with my plans I'll be able to attend and bring:

    mojohand cream pie
    guyatone 8band eq
Dod fx 62 bass stereo chorus (formerly Ahpooks)
    SanAmp Programmable BDDI
and either a BBE optocomp or an EH soul preacher (whatever one i buy)

Oh and my MIJ precision with Wizard Thumper pup will be down with me as well

  4. Nice basses dude, esp the P bass it looks awesome except its red lol any colour apart from that or blue would make it even better :) what likes the peavey? always fancied one but never pulled the trigger

  5.
yeah i did take that into cosideration. i think it will be ok and its a good pedal so i will be able to move it on if it dosnt do wat i want.
First dibs if you decide to move it on :)

  6.
Yeah the Boss GEB-7 is really good and is bass specific. And as it's Boss it's built like a Brick Sh1t House! I've got one and it's really useful, it has a 7 band eq and a level!
Its not true bypass though is it :)

I've a guyatone ps-026 8band bass eq not true bypass but pretty good, my p bass still sounds to my lugs no different when bypassed

  7.
very uinterested
    Quick q.
Can you have the Red and blue channels on together?
    do they have seperate outputs?
    or just one summed output?

    Ta.
The red and blue channels are seperate as the unit was designed for use with 2 separate basses although you can set it up with an a/b swithch so you could still have the use of both channels with 1 bass, it has the one output on the back

  8.
Does it absolutely have to say "Fender" on it?

    If not:

    Jon.
The 2nd one looks pretty sweet so no i dont think it has to say fender on it :)

  9. Here's my updated board, still got a compressor to get and i quite fancy another hyperpak cause i miss the one i sold to Finbar. . .

    Signal goes:

    Bass > TU2 > Cream Pie > EQ > Chorus > SAPBDDI

I plan on using the stereo out on the chorus when I get another cab to run a stereo set up one half clean one half dirty just for the banter :)

  10. I had a washburn P2. . . . . seafoam green, chambered mahogany body, mahogany neck, cream binding on the body and the neck, rosewood fretboard. . . . . . Damn i miss it, if I had the cash and could find one I'd snap it up

Nothing like my bass as I play a fender Precision at the mo :)
