1.
I'm not sure what you've got to hide here, but it looks bad.

This subject concerns more than just moderation.

This is a discussion about censorship.

It's also a discussion about not presenting the right terms and conditions at sign-up. I contend that if you're going to
introduce a profanitiy filter you need add it to the terms and conditions, you need to require everyone to re-subscribe,
and you need to describe an acceptable use policy for people who circumvent the filter.

Personally I would prefer to see the existing conditions for acceptable use being enforced by the
moderators, as they volunteered to do when they signed up to be moderators. I think that a few warnings to
people that they need to be civil and respectful, and the eviction of persistent offenders should be the way
that the problem should be handled.
You read the terms and conditions? :)

  2.
They can indeed, very easily. I'd demonstrate but my post would be swiftly moderated anyway.
But then you are trying to circumvent it and the idea of filters i to block a slip of the tongue or fingers in this case, if ya feel the NEED to swear then there is always a way :)

  3. I don't understand this whole issue Talkbass has had a filter on for years true it didn't change it cockney slang it just **** it out, so the Cockney stuff (which I don't understanda word that is being said) is just Kiwi having a laugh in the word replacement I'm sure it can be made to just be boring and **** but if you shouldn't really need to swear in your day to day conversations (This is from some one who swears profusely) its simply not needed on any forum and I don't know any that really allow it anyways?

If ya need to call some one a harsh name you can do it in a PM :) can't we Kiwi ya ************************** see now you don't know what I'm talking about  shoe's on the other foot now

Can you PM me what you actually said here as I have no idea what the hell you are talking about :)

  5.
This is such an [Aylesbury Ducking] [Jackie Brambles].

Seriously, I crack myself up sometimes.
I like it :)

At this rate I'll understand what's being said next time I go down south.

  6.
I'd be tempted but my Fleabass really doesn't get on with pedals :)

Still, it would be good to see if there is a company who can make pedals that can handle high output basses well.
The only pedal that won't work well is the Huckleberry.

    Everything else should be fine.

  7. I received this today from Bongo after I had it sent to him for his OS Clone shootout.

    Here are his findings
Tone Factor Pulp Mill: This one is a different approach to the OS circuit, as its "comp" [kitchen hob] is not a bias control, but rather a wet/dry blend. So unless you open up the housing and fiddle around with the t[licking an posterior opening]pots in there, it will be at a bias setting which is on the smoother side rather than the funkier side. It has low noise, and blending your clean be[Myleen Klass] signal in allows it to have slightly better low end than the Pedal Doctor one, but it will still benefit from a be[Myleen Klass] mod. The tone is slightly darker than the PD. All in all this one seems designed so you can add just a bit of the OS flavor to your signal, rather than being a "squash box" like the PD and VTP versions. But it works well and sounds nice, if a bit subtle for my tastes. It has the usual modern touches like TBP footswitch and nice components, but the paint job on the box is a bit sloppy.
PLEASE NOTE: This review is pre be[Myleen Klass] mod that Bongo has performed on this comp.

Now firstly I have also owned the older Tone Factor Squeeze Factor that was made by Pedalworx and I have also owned the Pedalworx McSqueeze, which are effectively the same circuit with the t[licking an posterior opening] pot being a proper [kitchen hob] on the Squeeze Factor. So i have had brief experiences with OS Clones that to be honest have left me m[Myleen Klass]ively unimpressed, the clip out and [horse and cart] out etc and are generally unusable but not this baby, this is a fantastic compressor, very clear and natural and when you crank it you get a nice squish and a very vintage tone as you will hear in a moment.

The pedal is excellently build as you expect from Tone Factor and any other Boutique builder to be honest, but I couldn't see the messy paint job Bongo referred to. So I've uploaded some pics of it so you can judge for yourselves :) don't know if the flash is in the way though.

So I wouldn't even compare this to the OS Clone I've had before, this is a full on proper be[Myleen Klass] compressor and not just used for an effected sound as most OS Clones are, I'd put it in a similar class as the Demeter and EBS while still retaining some of the roundness a vintage type compressor will always have.

In the sound clips I have the compression [kitchen hob] at 3 o clock to get that more OS'y clone sound

This is my 60's Classic MIM Fender Jazz with Overwater flats, neck pup and tone rolled off, the comp comes in after the first few bars. This is my feeble attempt at some Motown or similar era hits to show that nice vintagey lofi flats and compression sound.

    http://myselfalone.com/tayste2000/Pulp%20M...ive%20Flats.mp3

This is my Overwater Evolution 5 string with Overwater Rounds *WARNING w*nk*rY ALERT* I wanted to show the percussiveness of the pedal while still retaining the high end zing for slap, this is the same setting as the last clip just different be[Myleen Klass] and playing style.

    http://myselfalone.com/tayste2000/Pulp%20M...ve%20Rounds.mp3

So while this pedal won't be replacing my Rane DC24 I will be using it jams and in the studio where I can.

If Bongo can chirp up exactly what the mods were I can talk to Tone Factor and they might be able to offer it as a custom option.

    Hope this has been useful.

    Cheers

I took this from another forum so none of you will know Bongomania

  8.
Best pedal tuner available IMO.
Naughty naughty you know there is no such thing as best.....well you know unless I own something :)

  9. He has been very helpful to me answering all my questions on any EA gear I couldn't get my hands on and was thinking of buying.

From the pictures I've seen I think he gigs quite often, more than alot of people on this forum and some of them are quite big, few outdoor festivals and such.

I don't think it's fair that anyone judge him for having lots of nice gear, if you can why not.

  10. So as I'm so kind I'm offering a Tone Factor Tourbox up.

These are all my pedals and I'm doing this off my own back just to get a company who have made some amazing effects more known.

The people that receive the pedals will have to do a full review on each pedal and if possible soundclips.

So the pedals included will be

    Tone Factor Huckleberry
    http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=Huckleberry

    Tone Factor Nebula
    http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=Nebula

    Tone Factor Fuzzsaw
    http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=fuzzzsaw

    Tone Factor Cream Pie
    http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=CPD

You will be allowed to keep the pedals for 1 week and the pedals MUST be forwarded on to the next user using Royal Mail Special Delivery as it is the only service that will fully insure the £300 worth of pedals going out. This will be roughly £6-£7.

I will offer up 6 places and I will decide who out of the people that respond to this thread and PM me and will finalise the list by Friday 15th June.

So if you are interested PM me and then I will let you know if you will be on the list.

  11.
I have a Korg DTR 1000 rack Tuner - doesnt have the fancy lights that the DTR2000 has but it is very accurate and precise, never had an issue with it.
No Lights No Cool Factor :)

  12.
£199s the cheapest i've found so far tho a shop on ebay is selling for £210 BIN, with a best offer option so might get it cheaper.

i think what i wrote was a bit confusing, what i meant was most wireless packs with selectable frequencies will only have a selectable range of 30MHZ in 25kHz jumps so from 660 - 690MHz in 25kHz jumps giving 1200 selectable frequencies. So i would assume it would be the same with the akg system, usualy the frequency range is writen on the back of the body pack.
835.000 - 861.900

    Hope this helps

  13.
The AKG WMS 400 looks amazing for the price.
tayste; does the system allow you to choose any frequency between the 660 - 863 MHz or is it only in one of the blocks of 30MHz, i'm looking to get a wireless for playing at church and we have specific frequencies licenced for use in the building we meet in. So if the unit only comes in a 30MHz block would i have to conact the supplier with the particular frequency block i want?

Also, does anyone know the difference between the WMS400 and WMS450 i can't find any difference appart from an extra 2MHz frequency band from 863 to 865 MHz and a price increase of £130.
Hehehe Don't laugh but I've never changed the frequency on it :) so I wouldn't know, I wouldn't have thought it would have gone up in such high jumps of 30mhz though. Just checking though are any of you guys finding the AKG 400 for less than 199?

FYI people looking for a cheap good wireless ElliotMinor is selling on the AKG bugs in the For Sale Section they are great units as long as you don't throw your bass around your head

  14.
OK, having pondered this a lot over the last few weeks, ive decided to sell the Sennheiser Freeport system and replace it with an AKG WMS400 - which seems to be the dogs danglies.
You know it's good cos I have one :)

  15.
....and when tastye 2000 plays, the audience are pinned to the wall and battered with low frequencies until they bleed from thier ears!
You have no idea especially when my 5 string is tuned ADGCF :)

  16.
Regarding the three points:

    1. Does it actually regulate the voltage or does it just tell you if the voltage is not optimal? If it does regulate the voltage how much current can it deliver?

    2. A simple surge protected power strip can do this at far less cost and weight.

    3. Any half-decent rack gear should not need A/C filtering.

    Alex
I agree with all these points but it was the only way I could justify more lights in my rack :)

  17.
Ste, the guitarist in my band has been using the Planet Waves tuner for a while with an adaptor, but last rehearsal, he used it with a battery and everytime he left it in his signal chain, there was this loud high pitched screeching. I don't know if that's the same as the noise you mentioned, but is there anyway to get rid of it? (appart from the obvious idea of not leaving it in the chain, or using a looper to mute it)
Best solution I found to get rid of the high pitched squeal was to sell it :)

  18.
Thanks for all comments - I'm going to look out for a DT-10 as it has the most thumbs up.

    Hamster
Get the DT-10BK cos it has cool blue led's :)
