1. Still very much on a tone journey with my Tokai P-style, Fender rumble 500 combo + earthquaker palisades. Looking for a good core overdrive tone but the palisades isn't quite doing it for some reason. Recently recorded and used a SVT style plugin on Logic and loved the sound, obviously no substitute for the real thing but wondered if there were any recommendations for bass OD's on the cheaper end of the spectrum that might get me the ballpark sound I'm after.
2. Seeing a lot of love on other forums for the TC spark booster as a mild overdrive. Are there any users out there on here?

4. Got one, had minimal time to dial in before going into the studio yesterday. What I can say is the low end and volume on tap is massive. Will be using exclusively as a temporary effect when I need to cause physical harm with my rig.
5. Popped into Cardiff's PMT store and saw one in the glass pedal case, didn't realise how small the nano enclosures were! This will be my next acquisition, but as always need to sell to buy....
6. a couple of compressors I like the look of are the Fairfield Circuitry Accountant and the Rothwell Love Squeeze. Any users on here?
7.
I'd love to see a shootout between that and the Way Huge Russian Pickle that has been tempting me as of late:
My exact thoughts. I hadn't been keen on the idea of a fuzz until Juan Aldrete on Pedals And Effects played through the russian pickle, sounded great. Now EHX comes to the table with this - around £75!!
8. Appreciate the EQ chat - thanks folks. Still would like to get comp recommendations though.
9. Team BC. Been playing a tokai MIJ hardpuncher through a Fender Rumble 500 combo. Finding it a bit boomy at times and beginning to think now is the time to investigate a compressor pedal to smooth things out a little (certainly not after major squashing). As I'm a rookie to the world of compression, any recommendations for a favourite mild compressor out there? N.B's ultra pricey boutique etc not on my radar. I'm aware of ovnilab, but would like opinions.
10. Hi folks, I'm a relative novice bassist, picked up a lovely MIJ Tokai Hardpuncher (P-style) bass second hand, sounds good through my fender rumble 500 combo, but did wonder about the wonky pickup arrangement. Does this look right? The outer edges of each half look a bit low to me... Any advice greatly appreciated before I get my screwdrivers out!
11. Possibly jap. Presumably better quality if so? Edit - has accepted £300.
12. Hi all, every now and again I see one of these Tokai P-style basses around and one has come up for sale near me and I'm seriously interested, but wanted to guage opinion on them before i take the plunge. Pretty sure its a newer model, no serial number, sunburst with tort pickguard. £350 seem too much?
