1.
This, for many of us here, is the equivalent of 'Groundhog Day'. There is no mileage left in this tack.
Than why bother replying in the first place !
 2.
Try and advertise a ric clone on eBay* then, and see how well that goes! * or gumtree or preloved..
Have seen LOADS of photos on eBay - was that not the point, that its the image that we can now show?
 3. No I did see that (hence the comment) so would seem Mr Hall has scared you, but seems he's not scary enough to worry eBay or the numerous Bass gear forums on Facebook?
 4.
Probably not, no
If thats the case - why is it 'illegal' to even advertise them on here
 5.
http://www.coda-musi...145352435abf814 tried this today, only 10 min drive from my house. 6. As a kid I often saw Phil Lynott walk past my Aunts house in Walkinstown. Bit random, but it was Dublin
 7.
So you should buy a Fender if you want a Fender logo. Fixing a Fender logo on a non Fender bass is theft of Fender's Intellectual Property and at some point someone will try to sell it as a Fender. A logo isnt simply a decoration. A logo is a certificate of authenticity and quality. Putting one on a non-Fender is a low-down thing to do; which I'm sure you never would as you're a decent guy. /rant
Absolutely !!!!
 8. A squire is a nice guitar made to a lower budget and hence it says squire not fender. Changing the logo due to aesthetic preference is possibly the most original 'justification' I have ever heard. Anyhow, have to go, have to put a Bentley badge on my chrysler with bentley badge
 9.
Exactly. Leo sold Fender in 1964 so all the Fenders made since then are fakes, surely..??
No because in any sale part of the valuation is IP which would have transferred to the new owners.

 11. I am not necessarily talking about this website but I have seen on various forums adverts for (usually) DIY or cheap looky-likey basses that someone has applied a Fender transfer to the headstock. I find it annoying, it devalues the brand and would have thought it was at best legally dubious. OK so the seller may be 'honest' to admit whats been done, but who is to say what the next owner will do. I actually have a friend who bought a Jazz bass with what is quite a well applied Fender logo, I knew the second i played it that it was not right, but he has had it for a few years and i did not have the heart to tell him. I know Alembic will not even post a replacement logo even if you have bought a bass direct from them (and they record every sale etc) you have to return the instrument to them to have it replaced - a real pain in the bum BUT I can see why they do it. Yet I often see Fender transfers for sale, even on music supplies web sites, really do not understand why Fender allow it. Rant over
 12.
The seller I bought from was Dangleberry music.
Have used them for other items both via eBay and direct and in every case they were great, would add I have no connection with them but its nice to know there are lots of good UK based suppliers out there, just a matter of finding them. Perhaps there should be a section for that, based ONLY on user feedback . not subscription?
 13.
And once again this mis-information appears. 14.
I got a good pickguard for a P, and good service from northwestguitars.co.UK I'd use them again
Wow, just looked at the website, have bookmarked them thanks
 15.
I was toying with the idea of importing a bass from Japan but decided against it. This may help you from getting stung again. http://www.dutycalculator.com/
As i keep saying, I knew how much the VAT was and i knew how much the import duty was, my surprise was that the PO charged almost three times that to collect it.
 16.
Axes-r-us do 3 ply pickguards to for fender P's for £18 though OP doesn't state model so maybe no use to him http://www.axesrus.c...rnpeebasspg.htm
THe description says "Occasionally seen with the “eclipse” for access to the truss rod at the heel of the neck, we’ve left our plates blank just to leave your options open, but it’s a very easy job to add the “eclipse” using an 11mm drill bit then countersink to suit." - seriously !!
 17. Thanks Marc, to be honest I was almost as cross about being charged £8 to drive 8 miles to the post office and collect it myself, had it been sent via FedEx et al I would have cost less
 18. So, decided to change my white pick guard to a black one. Local Fender dealer wanted £49 quid but could buy one in Holland for just £14 plus £8 delivery, no brainer so went and ordered, 10 days (TEN DAYS !) later it arrived. Ut was terrible, no shielding on the back and the shape looked like it had been cut out by a drunken chimp. No way was it a genuine Fender product, contacted seller who pointed out it said Fits Genuine American Fender, and it did not say it had shielding anywhere on the advert. But I could send it back for a refund less postage, but had to be sent recorded. Which would cost more than it was worth, as no doubt he knew, so in to the bin it went. So this time i spotted one on eBay by a US based Fender Dealer, genuine item, part number lot, and for just $27 or about £19 plus a fiver for fast postage. OK, so i would have to pay tax and vat, but 20% of £18 is next to nothing right? Fast (uep just a week from teh US) 7 days and I get a card to say I owe the postoffice £12.00 - turns out the post office now charge a flat fee of £8.00 for collecting the £4 vat and import tax. Talk about rip-off Britain. I guess I have now learnt me lesson, well, until next time....
 19.
Yeah I too have had enough of this two party jack plug system... they are all just in it for themselves.
20. "disenfranchised" now your just showing off
 21.
indeed... I'm currently drafting a thread on which color of strap you prefer.
Clear, same as my Transparent Invisible Bra Straps, no tan lines ever
 22.
Always angled. Btw it's an OUTPUT socket on your bass.
Indeed it is, so have amended that :-)
 23. Prety much as the heading says, if you have a front mounted jack, do you use straight plug or angled plugs?
 24.
I know one of Wilco Johnson's offspring. Back in the day they made a comment along the lines of 'my Dads' bass player Norman'. It was years later I realized it was the legend that is Norman Watt-Roy, being referred to.
Great video of the man himself _ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCIWmldNbyA
