Well every day really is a school day. I never knew there was bass guitar on I Feel Love, thought it was all synth.
It's low in the mix because of the various synths overlaid. But it's there.
There is an old TalkBass thread about Donna Summer and the various Bassists that recorded for her and Les pops up (again).
RIP Donna Summer - The bassists thread... | TalkBass.com
Also, another studio player of that time who recorded with Donna Summer, Dave King, chimes in and talks about his Bassline on "Love To Love You Baby..."

I'm a fan of Will Lee. He used to be a member of the Letterman Show band.
There's a video of Will Lee singing 'MacArthur Park' up on YouTube. He's got some vocal chops as well..!

If we are talking English players we have to mention Paul Westwood, who was doing everything in the 80's/90's. Great player and great guy too.
Yes, he was a regular in a lot of the TV Orchestras back then.
A terrific player and very likeable chap.
Back in the 90's, there was a particular TV turn I worked for and PW depped for me a couple of times.
Les Hurdle was another top UK session Bassist;
Donna Summer - "I Feel Love" and "On the Radio are a couple of his Bass lines from a varied session CV from back then.
I believe he was also Tomsk (The Wombles...).
He now lives up some hillside near LA as a media composer.
A few months back he turned up at the VI Control forum, where I asked if he had been a Womble in his past life. He owned up (
) and then mentioned a couple of his session exploits.

All of my favourites have been mentioned , but how about a shout out for
these guys?
All great players on some fantastic recordings.
Herbie Flowers
Mo Foster
Russ Stableford
Alan Spenner
Klaus Voorman
Oddly enough, I was thinking about some of the UK session players from the 60's & 70's yesterday.
Dave Richmond was another Bassist who was very much used on TV/Film/Jingles and albums on a regular basis.
Quite a character as well....

I'd have to find room for Nathan East, who to leave out? Tough call.
Haha, I had the same problem, so I left him out in favour of Neil Stubenhaus.
Everyone knows about Nathan's work but, Neil's work goes under the radar a bit for some reason (Probably because he was mainly a true, studio session hermit at his peak).
So I thought I would give him a mention.

I could easily add another five to my list. But, I won't be greedy.

Purely because of the amount of different situations they could all drop into with absolute ease. TV, Film, Albums, Commercials etc:
Of course, all from the golden days of 1st call studio musicians.
Neil Stubenhaus
Anthony Jackson
Abe Laboriel
Chuck Rainey

Solved. I had to copy the URL for the login page from Chrome to Edge and then it worked. Mostly. I had to change my oassword, and then change my password one more time (to the same password as before).
They've definitely got some user authentication issues, but that worked for me at least.
Glad you got it sorted...👍

No I can press the button fine, and then I just get an eternal "Loading" indicator in the web browser window. Switching back to the download assistant or restarting it doesn't do anything either, so it's obvious that the login request isn't authenticated.
I now seem to remember having an issue with Dorico 4 a few months back when Steinberg started the whole migrating process over to the Download Assistant.
I was advised to log out of the the Download Assistant and close it down. Then open the App and log in again.
That fixed my issue, so maybe try that?

It tells me to log in and opens a login window in my browser, but once I enter my email and password it just hangs forever.
I'll try again later I guess.
I presume you are using the new desktop App? If not, here is the link:

That is, I would, if the Steinberg Download Manager would let me log in. Anyone else having issues with their Steinberg login?
If you are talking about the (newish) 'Steinberg Download Assistant', it's all working fine for me (I'm on PC).
Although, there was an update for it on Friday which took an age to update.

Yea I did that... 2x's.................. I am just getting tired of all the glitches I am getting into cubase... Thinking of Logic Pro or Protools................ I think Cubase is such a problem trying to get help.... So disgusted with cubase and I have been with them for a long time.
Try the Steinberg/Cubase official forum. You shouldn't really be getting glitches, not on modern day PC's with a decent Audio interface, anyway.
You might have to be more specific, but there is always good help about on their board:

Im using windows I will check out your very useful info and will look into it. Thank You so much.
Its loops and samples that I don't have.... It comes up like yours but when I click it they are all gone
Did you download them with version 12 when you upgraded? Or maybe Cubase didn't migrate them over from version 11.
Check you 'Steinberg Download Assistant'. It will tell you:
-
I'm using Nuendo 12 (it's Cubase really with added post production & game stuff). I've not had any problems at all and on my system, it runs very smoothly
When you say "Lost all my Loops and Instruments..."
1) Do you mean from the right side browser as in my first screenshot?
2) Or, from the main Media Bay (Hotkey F5 on a PC), second screenshot?
3) "Glitches" sounds like it's possibly your 'Multi Processing, ASIO-Guard, Power Schemes and Buffer sizes/settings etc...', third Screenshot.
A few more details might be helpful...Mac, Windows, what Audio unit etc...? Are you running the current update (you can check in your 'Steinberg Download Assistant'?

All Cubase 12 versions now have 40% off through September.
Existing owners of earlier versions also have the chance of good update/upgrades to version 12.
It seems they have thrown a few freebies in as well.
Steinberg are now mostly dongle free apart from a few older VST's. These are still being migrated over to the new system.
The new system means you can now use more than one machine at a time.

If any one is interested in some Bass Clef reading practise. Rob Egerton has quite a few Jazz Trombone solos transcribed in his scrolling videos.

This version of 'The only way is up', which is currently featured on ads for the Co Op.
Interesting take on the Yazz version, which I believe was a cover itself too.
I remember the original, although, I'm not sure it was a big seller or had a lot of radio play. A good arrangement though:

I have a few, but this one is getting a lot of listens at moment. I stopped listening to it for a while but, a recent thread kick started it again.
"Dave Grusin Presents West Side Story". It has top playing, top singing and terrific arranging.

So many good performances on Da Tube but, I went for John Eliot Gardiner this morning.
Excellent, although there must have been a shortage of combs, brushes and decent rugs in the dressing room that day:
