Love that colour mate, what sort of prep did you have to do to the body before spraying? Did you clear coat it? I have the red one and would love to do It that colour.
Great job.

Gonna spray the neck this week with amber nitro, Just wondering If I'll need clear coat on top? If not how long will just the amber tint last? Will I need to do any sanding? Never done any spraying before so any help would be great. Got no Idea about sanding or buffing (If using a clear coat)
Cheers all

Anyone else with the roswell pickup noticed that the E and A strings are not sitting over the pickup magnet poles? Don't look like a bridge problem, More like the pickup seems a tad small.
-
Flats went on it on day one, Just some old cheap ones I had laying around. Gonna get a set of decent ones soon!
-
All good Paul.

Which pickups mate? Don't wanna throw a fortune at It but may replace It.

Arrived Monday but only got a chance to upack today. 1st thing... How the F**ck do they make these for so little money?
Some things other people thinking of buying may want to know:
No hole under the scratchplate like some others have reported. Can use without plate now.
Bridge has changed from the large bulky one to one with Fender dimensions and screw placement.
Volume and tone pots work as they should do.
Gave It a quick set up and It plays superbly, love the tone with my old flats on too!
Mods I'm gonna do:
New tuners. (anyone know what are direct replacements?)
Amber tint the neck with Nitro.
Reshape the headstock.
Add own decal.
Repaint scratch plate aged cream.
Must say I am blown away at the price.
Cheers
Geoff.

Came out of my CV jazz as I wanted It kept standard.
Bank transfer only.
£50 Inc postage to UK only. -
For years (many years) I've used alternate fingering when ascending and raking when descending, after watching an Ariane Capp video on right hand technique seems I should have alternate fingering when descending also!
After practising this for a few days I've noticed that using alternate fingering going both up and down makes for a more even smoother run than raking. However, It's driving me mental!!!!! Anyone have any good exercises to get this down In my playing?
So far I'm just going up and down scales in circles of 4ths but anyone have anything that will speed up the process or is it as always Is. Keep practicing until It's second nature?
Cheers. -
Problem solved!
Digging around In me box of bits I found an Entwistle JBXN bridge pickup I bought for a project PJ I never got around to using, Banged It In and Instant honk! -
Tried different pickup heights, still the same.
-
I've got Wizard 84's In my CV jazz and to my ears they're a bit too mellow sounding, not getting that 'Honk' from the bridge with neck just rolled off as much as I'd like so thinking of going down the Custom shop 60's route. Is there much difference between the 84's and the custom shops?
I really like that nasally sound from the bridge and I'm not really hearing It from the 84's
Anyone had both?
Any help appreciated! -
Let the chap sell his bass eh??
-
It's cool, I asked firstly because I couldn't find any info on the FSR bass and because of Bigmuffs patronising 'Anything Else' statement.
-
Yeh, Why did you sell It?
-
So what are the specs for this bass, can't find any detailed Info on the FSR range. Body wood, pickups etc
-
Looks like your bass Is this one: http://shop.fender.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-Fender-JP-Site/ja_JP/Product-Variation?pid=product-525160&dwvar_product-525160_var-color=Fiesta%20Red&dwvar_product-525160_var-fingerboard-material=Rosewood
£550 new, basswood body. Last of the Jap Fender range from what I've seen on the net. made in January 2015 according to serial number. JD means either Japanese Deluxe or more likely J for Japan and the D is the factory It was made at.
Nice looking bass.
