My Jabba 5 is just superb, excellent quality instruments that don't have the profile they deserve.

Great colour combo...😍

I didn't see this thread until I googled us to find the link for the tickets to our gig haha
I'm the bass player in this band (Invisible Airwaves)!
Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Lovely to hear.
And can confirm, Tamas is a very cool guy
Maybe see some of you in June!
You guys have done an amazing rendition of Tom Sawyer, absolutely bang on!

One of my favourite records and a terrific bassist.
Trevor recommended the band sack their original bass player Mark Lickley and Brad replaced him.
According to Trevor Horn's book Brad was the son of Don Lang who was the trombonist in the Bob Miller band and had sung the original theme for the Six-Five Special TV series.
There is a really challenging bass lick in 'Show Me' at the end of the string intro at 0.38s where the drums come in. Awesome dextrous bass guitar playing which took me ages to figure out!

Thanks for posting, huge Pino fan here but I have to say this is unfortunately yet another podcast hosted by a person who thinks it's all about themselves.
I'd estimate the majority of this interview consists of the interviewer sharing his own thoughts and poor old Pino, one of the most experienced, influential and respected bass players in the world, is barely able to get a word in at times.
Would be great if this could be edited down to a shorter interview which actually focussed on what the great man (Pino, not the other guys) has to say.

I realise that weight is relative...it's light in comparison to my other jazz basses.
I weighed it using luggage scales and its showing 3.81kg
Cheers.
An excellent weight for a Jazz.
Tasty 😋 GLWTS

I bought a Mayones from Lukasz back in August and finally got round to posting some feedback today.
Sale was very quick and straightforward and bass was packed well before posting.
I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Lukasz again.

I would say a more substantial amp, 200W or more so he is able to do gigs if that is what he wants to do.
Alternatively a basic but decent multi effects pedal.

An excellent price GLWTS

I like Scott. I think he's made an outstanding contribution to online bass education and I think he's a genuine guy.
As a fusion semi-fan I will give his album a listen but whatever I think of it I will not be posting anything negative here because we are not down the pub, we are on a public forum.
He is also a fellow Basschatter 😉

Great effort mate 👍
I love Knower and Louis Cole's solo stuff and agree with your comments on Sam Wilkes.

Same story presented at Birmingham. Strikes me Vincen is the kind of professional player who’d have the habit of learning peoples material anyway for the study, and if he’s messaging Cory in the past he’s I doubt he’s just fired it off at random.
Regardless of the schtick, he’s one helluva player and the evening was far from joyless, the band were savage from start to finish. (Support band woeful but that’s another story!)
Was tempted to go myself but had prior commitment that night. Glad it was a great gig

Interesting approach... I tend to leave everything flat but, if anything, back off the bass a bit.
I can't imagine reducing the bass to zero though

This has reignited my GAS which I thought I'd defeated.
Damn.
Thank god you are so far from Brum otherwise I'd probably crack.

Hi all,
I recently bought a brand new bass and the frets have a quite rough feel to them.
Not the fret ends but the actual surface of the frets. When you fret and bend a string it feels unpleasant and rough.
After googling the problem I have come to the conclusion that I should polish the frets.
Is this right, before I spend any money on a kit?
Thanks in advance for your advice 🙂
