Yeah I was pleased to see it go, and to a good home too. Have to say again how impressed I am with the Darkglass DG112N. Tried it in a rehearsal finally last week and held up with the drummer and loud guitarist no problem. Best trade I've ever made.

Any neck dive issues? I'm considering getting one to try 5 string (again).

Well...I managed to sell my 4x10, an end of an era and a goodbye to Ampeg. It served me well, but dead excited to try out the 112 and new GK Legacy 500 in the studio / gig. Sounds like the second cab is a good option for larger venues, but since its pretty unlikely I'll be in that scenario any time soon I figured I'll just stick with the one for now. GAS = 0 , me = 1 ....for now.

Seems the popular vote is the 2 x 112 option. I'm realising the smaller I can go the better. Now to just find a way to shift the ole 4x10...

Thanks Chris, Out of interest what make were your cabs and amp for this set up? When would you use 2 vs 3 112s?

Working my way through them Bill but have a feeling I may remember your post once I get to the end whilst cradling my head in my hands. I have only had one rig for the last 12 years, so the notion to deep dive and overthink where to go next is strong, but I'm guessing it'll mostly be fine wherever I end up (and of course price is going to be the main factor but that wouldn't get the discussion going very far would it!?)

Sweet, I think that's what I was looking to hear as that's how I'd imagine I would use the two.

Hi all, I've read a great discussion on Talkbass (https://www.talkbass.com/threads/2x12-vs-two-1x12-cabs-pros-and-cons.1319015/) weighing up the differences between 2x 112 or a 1x212 and was wondering if anyone on here ran a similar setup for comparison ,( even a 212 and 112). I've recently traded my SVT CL (still going through seperation anxiety) for a GK Legacy 500 and Darkglass 112 cab which I'm really happy with. The aim was to get something I could carry with one hand for small gigs but still have something for louder rehearsals and gigs with my prog band. So, I still have an Ampeg 4x10 for this reason but is looking and feeling too heavy for me to hang on to. The modular cab approach mentioned above sounds appealing to me. I should mention the 112 is as light as a feather.. I honestly don't know how it's possible it's that light. Taking price out of the equation, what are your thoughts on this? cheers

Amazing looking bass, what sort of wood is that on top?

Hi, I'm considering selling my Ampeg SVT CL ('94 US model). Aside from the weight, I don't think it fits my needs anymore. I recently got a Fender Rumble 15W as a practice amp and was amazed at the response time. I'm not sure if this is just psychological or not but in comparison, the Ampeg feels extremely sluggish in response time. I'm looking to get something more portable, a solid state I'd imagine, but similar power to my SVT CL. Any suggestions? Maybe around the £800 mark or more, depending on what I get for the SVT CL. I've got an SVT Heritage 4x10 which I'm planning on keeping, but should I consider changing this too with the amp? Thanks!

Great thanks. I orginally found a goId Badass bridge but steered clear because of th high action ( and would have been quite an eyesore). Great idea about routing, I thought about this too and may well end up doing this. Not myself though, I’m fine with setting up instruments but any work like that’s way out of my league! Thanks for the input!

Ahh the wrath of Basschat.... I’ve owned this a couple of years now. Absolutely no problem with the intonation whatsoever despite the bridge slant. I agree it’s lost on me why it was placed that way, most likely a mistake/inexperience. This was his second attempt I believe but I just don’t have that answer. What I can say is Martin at The Gallery did an awesome job on it when I took it in. Just a correction from a previous comment, I took it to the Gallery to have the neck levelled. I specifically requested the D through C strings to be lowered alongside this and this was accomplished by removing the height adjusters and filing the saddles down further. This was not an oversight or mistake by the original builder or a fix by The Gallery to try and set up the bass properly. This was to suit my playing style and how I wanted it set up. To say it’s not even worth £55 I think is a slight overreaction. It’s an excellent instrument and I stick the price advertised. Of course, taking into consideration most would want to change the bridge, the price is negotiable, but I stand by the quality of the build and materials used (even the bridge which was the first thing I opted to change when I bought it, But was then advised that this was not necessary when looked over). And finally....THIS IS NOT A RITTER!! It is Ritter shaped, nothing else. I’ve been careful not to mislead anyone into thinking they’re getting the time, expertise, materials, precision and QC that goes into building a Ritter. This is just a tribute, everyone take it easy. If anyone’s willing to throw out some constructive suggestions re bridge ideas or anything else please feel free to! I’ve never been a huge fan of the single bridges...
