1. For playing along on my macbook pro I made this little app to speed things up. Some other might find it useful as well: http://www.richard-stanton.com/music/itab/ Whenever iTunes goes to the next song, it will find the tab for the new song automatically.
2. Also didn't mention but I made a bookmarklet for YouTube. Its a bookmark that when you click will search for the tab for the current YouTube video. Available at the same place: http://www.richard-stanton.com/itab/
3. I don't have access to a windows computer unfortunately. I'm new to developing too, got my head around the mac environment, I assume windows couldn't be too much different. If I get a windows machine at some point, I don't see why not!
4. Hi everyone, Recently, I've mostly been practising by playing along to iTunes and looking up the tab for each song. It was a bit annoying so I made a program to do it for me. I've been using it myself and find it really useful. So I thought I would share it with everyone here! http://www.richard-stanton.com/itab/ Its just a simple free app that looks up the current iTunes song and finds the tab. Its still very early stage, so it's not perfect (only for Mac at the moment...sorry!). I would love to get some feedback. Hopefully you'll find it as useful as I have.
5.
Hi, where are you located?
Needs collection from Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith, 15 min walk from the tube station.
6. For sale only. Peavey TKO 115 S. Built like a tank. ~33kg. Some marks to the rolex 1x15, ~75W, but very loud! Has been used for both rehearsals and gigs. Cuts through very well, played with a 16 piece jazz band and a couple rock bands both small and medium gigs, had plenty of headroom for each. 7 band graphic EQ. Both input jacks (active and passive) are temperamental and crackle and cut-out. They just need re-soldering/replacing which is fairly easy. Missing to the top to one control. Due to our transport requirements we have upgraded to a smaller, lighter amp. Please see the Gumtree ad for more details, and more photos http://www.gumtree.c...15-s/1031178834 Reviews: http://en.audiofanzi...s/user_reviews/ http://www.ultimate-..._115/index.html
7. Thanks a lot Terry! Just what I needed.
8. I think the amazon page says it was published in May 2007, does anyone know whether this exists or not.
9. Does anyone have any details on this? Song list, release date? This looks to be very handy! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Marcus-Miller...629&sr=1-21
10. Logic Pro has just been updated to Logic Studio: a collection of programmes that includes logic pro 8 all the jam packs. Theres also a new logic express which includes the best plug-ins from logic pro - doesnt seem like cut down versions. And they both seem much cheaper. Logic pro 7 was £700 - but logic studio is £320... http://www.apple.com/uk/logicstudio/
11. Alternatively you could attach an ethernet cable between them and turn on file sharing on the computer with the program to copy. Then connect to it from your computer and drag it across.
12. I use logic express on an old iMac G5, it works fine with plenty of processing power left over. The new iMacs would be easily powerful however you may need to get a crossgrade to logic 7.2 if thats not the version you have already. Its just an upgrade but you have to buy it. Im not sure if its even sold anymore.
13.
Is your laptop fed direct mains or does it have a transformer. If it has a transformer and is double insulated (there will be a square inside a square on the transformer if it is). We had a problem at work where if you leant on the radiator whilst using the laptop you would get a shock (not big more like a static discharge). We all used double insulated transformers which we had upgraded to ones with an earth. This solved the problem, you may find that some static is finding its way to earth from your laptop via you and your srtings. This is a warning sign that much bigger voltages would probably go the same way. If you aren't using an RCD I would get one very soon.
Nearly everything is double insulated rather than earth. The radiator problem has also occurred to me. Even when I used to have bass direct to amp. If I touched the strings and the radiator I would get a small shock as you have described.
14. All the devices are connected to one extension lead. Currently I am connecting the TV through the 3.5mm headphone socket, it has RCA sockets but only as an input, Ill experiment with scart to see if I have any success.
15. I think I may have sorted it out: Using a ground loop isolator i tried connecting item by item every configuration possible, measure the PD each time. The best solution I have found is by placing the ground loop isolator between the mixer and the laptop. There was then not shocks between the laptop case and the cable. However, know there are now sparks between the cable for the bass and the laptop case. Would it help to place ground loop isolators between everything?
16. I dont know if this helps, but i think everything is unbalanced. The TV is not connected to cable. The problem is not affected by the presence of the ethernet cable.
17. Ive done some more investigations: I plugged in one device at a time to the mixer, and using a multimeter measured the P.D. between the metal laptop case and the 3.5mm jack connecting the laptop to the mixer (the 3.5mm jack is not actually plugged in to the computer): Just like above, the PD is 0V and there are no problems. However, when the TV is attached to the mixer the PD rises to 13V to 18V. Attached as follows: The PD also rises when the ipod mains adaptor is plugged in. I have no idea why, the same effect is observed when they are attached to the same wall outlet. If the 3.5mm jack to the laptop touches the metal enclosure there are very small sparks between them. What can I do to eliminate this???
18. Thanks for all your advice. Its all in one room. If the mixer may be causing the problem. The instrument doesnt make a difference. The shocks are generally very small thankfully... I will of course put safety first. Thanks everyone.
19. I have quite a complicated set-up and occasionally get electric shocks from anything in the set-up that is metal. I have a mixer in the centre, and attached are as follows: 1. Bass 2. iPod, in dock connected to separate mains supply 3. Laptop, connected to different mains supply and ethernet 4. FX pedal in FX loop of mixer 5. TV, with freeview, ipod, and n64 attached. The shocks usually occur when im in contact with two or more metal things attached to different parts of the set-up, i.e. bass strings and metal laptop. What should I do???
20. I bought one of those ground loop isolators, and the noise has now gone. Thanks everyone for your help.
21. I cant attach them to the same outlet, as they are on different sides of the room, and the cables connecting them are fixed in place. Im not sure its the ipod. There is always a certain amount of noise from it, by when playing videos through the TV (which is also connected to the mixer, but not turned up) there is very loud noise. This also happens when my bass amp is connected to the alt out. It is also connected to a different outlet. When it is unplugged, there is no noise.
22. Im getting a lot of noise through my speaker from my iPod. The mixer is connected to a different wall socket than the iPod. I think the problem is a ground loop. What can I do to solve this? Would this work?? Clock

I had the same problem. I solved it by changing my time setting to a different time zone, and turing off Auto DLS, turning on DLS. I saved it, then changed them back again, and the time is now correct.
24. That seems a bit too expensive. Will the difference be worth the extra over the £100 z2300s?
25. Thanks a lot, for some reason those logitechs have just gone up in price in the last day!!
